Pudding the Jug

I admit the game made me laugh a few times, I took a crap inside an art museum, and the game gave me an achievement for making a "masterpiece" -- yea it's a bit of a low standard humor, but sadly it's where I am at, and very much the only thing you can expect from this game. Otherwise the game is like 45 minutes at best, I have more because I am trying to trigger some achievements, and I am not even sure they are working. It's kinda janky too, in theory it's just a point&click exploration game, but the pathing is really crappy and it's easy to escape the walkable area, sometimes softlocking the scene. You are a dog that just randomly takes a crap or makes yellow puddles, and that is kinda the main mechanic of the game, I guess? I will give the developer the benefit of the doubt, and assume they were not trying all that hard to make a real adventure game, it's more of a satire release I suppose (or maybe it's trying to be one), but still, you can at least fix those foreground issues so the characters do not overlap. A sweet little adventure game with a unique hand-drawn art style that really stands out, felt like a children's book really was incredible. The artwork is genuinely fantastic, and the humour landed especially well with my 9-year-old, who thought it was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. Was nice to play a game together that isn't minecraft. Loved the british humour as well, have learnt about henry hoovers now as well. The game is easy to pick up and complete and doesn't overstay its welcome,. If you're looking for something quirky, family-friendly, and full of personality, I would definetely recommend giving it a download :)

I went into Pudding the Jug expecting a quirky little joke game, but I came away genuinely impressed by how much charm and personality it already has. The game is a 2D point and click adventure centred around Pudding, an adorably chaotic dog with an unfortunate tendency to leave destruction, puddles, and other “surprises” around the house. Guided (or more accurately manipulated) by another dog, Melly, you’re sent on a series of mischievous errands that usually end with something being eaten, broken, peed on, or otherwise ruined. The premise sounds ridiculous, and it absolutely is, but the game fully commits to the bit in the best way possible. What really stood out to me was the presentation. The hand-drawn art style gives the entire game a cosy storybook feel, and every environment has a lot of character despite the relatively small scale. The voice acting was another pleasant surprise. It adds a huge amount of personality to Melly and other characters in the environment, and helps sell the humour without feeling forced.
