[b]8.5/10[/b] Massive sokoban with possibly the best story I’ve seen in a puzzle game where the puzzles are baked into the environment. [b]What is it:[/b] Imagine your job is to push boxes like some people push paper. Day in. Day out. Just pushing boxes around a warehouse with your only highlight being the occasional barrel. A mutant bug-infested apocalyptic disaster would start to sound like a welcome alternative. Well good news, this is the premise of Puzzle Depot. The first game I’ve played that fully embodies its sokoban-genre roots by starting the player off as a warehouse worker (the word ‘sokoban’ comes from the Japanese word 倉庫番 which means “a person in charge of a warehouse”). However, it quickly replaces warehouses with volcanic caverns and boxes with giant curled up pillbugs. While a traditional sokoban tasks players with pushing boxes around to achieve a prescribed win-state, this game shakes the formula up a lot by introducing items that alter how the player interacts with objects, giving RPG vibes. For example, with bare hands the player can push boxes, but pick up a crowbar and now you can break open certain boxes to reveal additional items needed to solve puzzle…

very fun sokoban-like, with bits of drod and even drod rpg included. optimization (for the sickos) and managing resources add more flavor than typical in the genre. super easy recommend for the box pushers, def deserves more love before jonathan blow's boxer takes the spotlight

A very 90s styled adventure puzzle game with 21st century puzzle design. Can be played quite fast and loose to just get through a level, but really shines when plannning a run that does all the objectives, as the purpose of every item and element accross a level become clear.

Excellent puzzle game with amazing music and a really well polished pixel style. It's like if Sokoban had a great story and progression, as well as enough new mechanics to keep you hooked, which it will! There are a ton of fun mechanics which come together in a way I haven't seen since Chips Challenge. Puzzles can be on the hard side but I've always been able to clear them after coming back later, and the game offers many optional challenges and bonus levels. Well Recommended!

Very fun puzzle game

This is a very good game, but its not a small bite to chew. Its very difficult & easy to softlock yourself out of a perfect score so expect to replay levels multiple times if you want to get everything. Levels are very long, like 1h minimum, but within the levels each screen is generally compartmentalized into individual puzzles. The difficulty comes from the fact that you're expected to solve each screen 'perfectly' or you take damage or lose an item. If you liked Isle of Sea And Sky, just think of this as a little bit more of a technical version of that. The story is cheesy when it tries to be serious, but the robot was pretty funny. RIP
