Special thanks to Mr. William Soleau, founder of Soleau Software, for graciously providing me permission to take inspiration from his DOS games Loader Larry and Block-man!

Look for keys in levels with locked doors:
An elevator automatically transports you to another elevator. You can avoid taking an elevator by carrying a box or you can block an elevator with a box to disable the second elevator:
Use the "Rewind Point" feature to save or restore your progress mid-level:
With the included level editor, you can create your own custom levels. You can also export and share levels on ModDB:

Pros: - Nostalgic. Has retro graphics and plays almost identically to Blockdude which I played on my calculator about 15 years ago - Has two new additions that Blockdude didn't have: elevators and keys. These make levels more interesting. - You can undo your moves, and place one "save point" in each level. - Relatively high replayability: each level has a "par" and a "dev" score, that give you a number of moves that you have to beat the level in, in order to get a little icon on the level select screen and unlock some achievements. The "dev" score is often the fewest number of moves possible, or close to it, and the "par" score is a bit higher than that. Beating the "par" score on some levels is really challenging, and I have no idea how to beat the "dev" score on most levels. - Some levels have an extra object you can collect that unlocks a bonus level. - The levels are challenging without being too challenging, and there are a lot of them (66 total, much more than Blockdude). The first few levels are really easy, but they quickly get more challenging, and trying to beat the "par" and "dev" scores is fun. - There is a level editor with the ability to share levels with others. I ha…

Good puzzles which get fairly tricky (but never insanely difficult)

I did not realize how much I love, love, love box-stacking games. This and Pilapia are such treasures, both games doing the same thing in their own distinct way. I played it so much I even beat one of the developer's minimum move scores. If this looks even remotely interesting, don't hesitate. Cozy brain candy.

Super Retro Box Bot isn't that bad of a puzzle game! I'd say the puzzles get harder but that could just be my small brain trying to figure it out the wrong way lol 8.5/10 game otherwise

I played this game online, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I appreciate the dev taking the time to come to the stream. Super Retro BoxBot is a delightful puzzle game on Steam that effortlessly combines classic arcade aesthetics with modern gameplay mechanics. It's a nostalgic journey down memory lane for anyone who grew up playing retro games, and it manages to capture the essence of those old-school titles while adding its unique twist. The game's pixelated graphics and chiptune soundtrack immediately set the stage for a trip back to the golden age of gaming. The visuals are charmingly reminiscent of 8-bit and 16-bit classics, which will indeed evoke nostalgia for those who spent hours in front of their CRT screens. The attention to detail in replicating the retro look and feel is commendable, making it a visual treat. Super Retro BoxBot's gameplay is where it truly shines. It offers a fresh take on the classic block-pushing puzzle genre, introducing innovative mechanics that keep things engaging and challenging. The core objective is maneuvering your pixelated character (the titular BoxBot) through increasingly complex mazes, pushing crates onto designated spots to progress. The…
