Ragtag Heroes : CO-OP Deckbuilder

Ragtag Heroes is an amazing deckbuilder that may not innovate much on the genre, but adds some interesting twists that make it feel quite unique. The Brave/Default system gives you options to deal with nearly every encounter, but learning when to use them is a hard skill to master when paired with a deckbuilder. The lane-based encounters also add an additional dynamic, where team positioning is a significant aspect of gameplay that comes into play even if you don't have any repositioning cards in your deck. The game is quite difficult, but this pushes players into finding the most powerful synergies they can. Not only that, but having three heroes to a team means that you not only have to find synergies within each of the three decks but also between them. The game is currently unfinished, but there is plenty of content already. At the time of writing there are six heroes, each with a unique set of cards with a variety of built-in synergies to create a deck around. Even without a specific final boss encounter finishing a run feels like an accomplishment. Clearly heavily inspired by Slay the Spire, nearly all the mechanics are there, but they've added enough that it feels fresh. Would definitely recommend if you have friends to play with.

Really at its best when playing 3 player co-op

1/10 - Lazy slapped-on toxicity-enabling multiplayer - 💩 MULTIPLAYER REWARDS DISABLED. We beat the game (all acts) multiple times and still didn't unlock hero #4 to play with (unlock requirements: beat act 3). - 💩 NO AYNCHRONOUS TURNS means [u]66% of the time you're watching other people play[/u]. - 💩 SOMEONE GETS SHAFTED EVERY GAME. 3 heroes to choose for 3 players, no repeats, means someone gets stuck with a hero they didn't get to choose. - 🤖 Story text has emdashes (written by AI) and feels exceedingly pointless. - 🤡 Developer specifically added shared rewards because they had the insane thought that convincing your friends you deserve to buy anything at all with the group gold is a fun part of co-op. As if that's not going to cause fights or introverts to get bullied out of loot... Imagine playing with a random who spends all the team gold! - 💩 No endless / new game +, which means every so many battles your build gets thrown in the toilet and the developer gives you the middle finger because why would you want agency over when you end your run? game is ok, i was enjoying it until all my saves corrupted maybe? whatever happened my friend and i lost the ability to start new games in single or multiplayer. hope its fixed soon. for now i cant endorse it cause i wanna see if this gets fixed.

I can not recommend this game as it is right now, version 0.7.2 There's to many bugs, there's to little information, killing a boss, and everyone gets to pick a relic, after one person picks a relic it just moves on. There's to many wierd things. Someone always has to "guard" at rest sites which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ someone gets shafted all the time. It's a little bit fun, but the game does a piss poor job at showing things, needs an UI/UX overhaul.
