demo marketed as a free game with the full game sold as dlc. scummy as ♥♥♥♥, immediate thumbs down. and that's on top of it being lazy and extremely tedious and boring. shooting voxel enemies to pieces is a fun concept (I happen to like voxels) but even that could've been done better and the mandatory auto-zoom is annoying. also, playing on easy is actually harder because progression is score-based and you get less on lower difficulties. smart. and of course [b]no mid-mission saving[/b]. current distance will be added to the overall but how about not penalizing people for wanting or having to quit? only a single volume slider, plus difficulty, sensitivity and vibration settings, nothing for the especially ugly graphics. keyboard controls are rebindable but playing a railshooter like that is idiotic, unless one is forced because the game doesn't have mouse controls, like in [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/dohi64/recommended/4561070]choo choo boom boom[/url]. that would be a decent game with the mouse and actually free, this is beyond help and from a shady dev.

I would recommend it except it's not really a free game. Once you get past a certain point the game expects you to purchase a $5.99 "DLC" that's both ridiculously overpriced and dishonest considering this is listed under free to play with no in app purchases. I wouldn't even mind if it was just labeled as a demo, but it's not really worth $6 and probably violates Steam's terms of service as well.

Rail Gunner is a really fun little sci fi shooter that immediately appealed to me because the whole game is built around defending a moving train. I am constantly dealing with robots chasing after me from behind, and the combination of a rail shooter setup and heavily destructible enemies makes the action feel much more satisfying than I expected. The combat is straightforward, but there is enough variety in the weapons to keep me interested. I can use rail guns, plasma weapons, lasers and missiles, along with different power ups that can change how I approach the next attack. I liked switching between weapons depending on what was coming toward me, especially when several different types of robots were on screen at once. The destruction system is easily my favorite mechanic. The robots are physically simulated rather than simply using fixed animations, so shooting different parts of them can produce very different results. I enjoyed watching damaged enemies continue chasing the train even after losing parts of their bodies.
