About RAM BOE

RAM BOE is a witty puzzle game inspired by the classic Sokoban, but with a twist. Instead of having to position blocks in different marked places, here you have to combine them and place them all in the mystical well of revival to free the souls trapped inside. That idea set it up for some really mind-boggling puzzles.

FEATURES

  • a cute and fuzzy ram as the main character
  • 70 levels of brain-bending puzzling action
  • cartoonish graphics
  • did I mention we have a cute ram? I did?
  • achievements, badges and trading cards
  • keyboard/gamepad friendly controls
  • a level editor connected with steam workshop so you can build/share levels
  • handpicked background songs from the famous Kevin Macleod

CHARACTER

Meet Boe the Ram, his full name is Beauregard Pete, but we use Boe out of commodity. He wasn't always a ram, he used to be an adventurer, he loved to climb mountains and hug trees. It all took a turn for the worse when he heard about this ice demon terrorizing the mountain tops. He went to slay it, but he was no match. His soul was forced into a rune stone by the jotun and after struggling for a while, he escaped and possessed a ram. That's how RAM BOE was born: one part man, one part wool, one part horns and a lot of parts cuddly.

THE TEAM

Greetings, we are a small group of friends that love video games. So we thought "hey, why not learn how to make video games" and so here we are. The team is composed of five people, hence the name of the team. This is our first attempt at a computer game and we are thrilled that we received so much attention and we promise to keep surpassing our limits in game-making.

THANK YOU

We thank each and every one of you, our voters, our commentators, our players, even you, the guy reading this right now! All that hard work and sweat can't compare with the moment you have the game finished and people are making a hype over it. We had a lot of fun making it and we hope you will enjoy playing it.

✦ AI summary

Players criticize RAM BOE as a low-effort mobile port that lacks the polish expected for PC gaming, with particular frustration directed at sluggish controls, inconsistent input responsiveness, and an unnecessary timer that undermines the puzzle-solving experience. Beyond these core gameplay issues, critics note the game appears to be a straightforward Sokoban clone monetized for Steam, with complaints about forced purchases for cosmetic items like profile backgrounds. The game does receive minimal credit for its cartoony art style and adjustable resolution settings, but these technical featur

RAM BOE is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The mobile app is, even as the developers admit themselves, a ripoff of Sokoban, but with some cartoony low poly graphics and instead of a pixel dude it's a sheep that pushes the boxes. So basically this is the same game that you can play for free in a web browser, only the "developers" want your money because they dumped a crap mobile app on Steam. The absolute state of amateur "indie" game developers, right here. On the upside you can change the resolution for the game, but apart from that lofty technical high, it's all downhill, and sharply. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The mobile app features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid 2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the mobile app (although the requirement for this to run on low end mobile phones is a factor), and also irrelevant... what matters i…

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…

NOTE: This is a review of the Linux version of this game. I have experienced problems with Unity games on Linux before; Windows gameplay may be different. A nice 3D Sokoban-type game with interesting levels. However, be prepared to be frustrated (and not because the puzzles are difficult)... The controls are slow and sometimes inconsistent. I've lost count of the number of time I've moved too far/not far enough and consequently moved the wrong block or moved in the wrong direction, and then had to waste time undoing the move. Pressing direction keys individually takes too long, and holding a key down results in the above. The timer! Why? Given that the whole point of Sokoban-type games (IMO) is to think ahead and plan your moves, why have a timer? The control problem mentioned above only makes the timer even more frustrating. It is obviously made deliberately difficult because there is an achievement for timing out on a particular level 10 times. The camera and 3D view: I don't think I have started a level without some part of the board being obscured by a tree or something. Moving the camera around to get a better view of the board works fine, but again it takes up precious se…
