Reclaim! Azhe-giiwewining

So this is more of an educational game than a fun one. It is aimed at older kids who can already read and has interests to know the world better. It is interesting to learn about the Ojibwe, their beliefs and their language. But the game lacks polish. The item usage is somewhat confusing, and the interactions are slow-paced. Still, it is quite a unique experience to be recommended. It was a cute game! I would have liked if the Ojibwe voice acting had subtitles, so I could see the Ojibwe text next to the English translation, but that's just a nitpick. It was nice to hear the language spoken! There were relatively few bugs, and no game breaking ones

This was delightful. As a white Minnesotan, this game taught me a lot about the people who originally lived here and gave me an even greater appreciation for the work that Ojibwe people are doing to preserve that culture. The story has a lot of heart and humor and I really liked the designs of the spirits. There were parts of the gameplay that could have been more intuitive, but considering the small team and the limited resources they were working with, I think it's pretty impressive. There's so much love clearly woven into this game, and I hope it helps many Ojibwe youth to connect with their culture and non-Ojibwe folks like me to better understand and support their Native neighbors.

A 2d point and click puzzle game that's entirely voice acted in Ojibwe, with deep references to Anishinaabe culture and a charming art style. Specifically as someone learning Ojibwe this is particularly cool, and I hope it's the first of many games like this--not just for Ojibwe but a whole bunch of other languages. I did have a few nitpicks, I wish there was maybe a way to see Ojibwe and English next to each other (you have to switch between them in-game for dialogue and such), and maybe some other features that would be helpful for language learning, like an index, but overall, it's a great resource. I already see myself going back for a couple more playthroughs to try and get a bit more language practice out of it.

I really enjoyed RECLAIM! Azhe-giiwewining. There aren't many other games like this, and it was awesome to finally experience a game that focuses on the Ojibwe language and culture. As someone who's Ojibwe, it meant a lot to see that represented in a video game. The story kept me interested, the puzzles were fun and challenging but not frustrating, and there were many funny jokes made by the characters. It didn't feel like the game was trying too hard it felt very authentic. My only real complaint was that I ran into a couple of bugs throughout my playthrough. The biggest one was my save file being deleted, meaning i had to restart the entire game from the beginning. It was frustrating but didn't completely ruin the experience for me. I still recommend this game, especially if you're looking for something different from usual games. I hope to see more from this developer team in the future.
