About Redactem

Rewind time and manipulate gravity in order to solve parkour puzzles in this extremely difficult, yet exciting new 2D platformer. With new levels being added for free all the time, the fun never ends. Each level in Redactem incorporates one of the game's many features to create a challenging puzzle that keeps you entertained. The game is addictive, frustrating, and interesting, you will always find yourself coming back to challenge one more level.

Redactem was the number one rated game on IndieGameStand, an indie game marketpalce, from July 2016 until the site's shutdown.

Ahhhh.... I really, really don't like giving negative reviews (I think this is my second only thumbs down) but this game had a LOT of problems. So, for starters, if you open and try playing the game off the bat, it will be 100% impossible to beat. Why? Because if your refresh rate / max framerate is anything but 30 (when most people have 60 or 120 hertz screens) the physics of the game will be BROKEN. The missiles will fire at x2 or x4 speed, the reverse time mechanic will just overlay sound and break, and running will just not work at all. I had to use external programs (thank you nvidia control panel) to even fix this, and I only knew it might be broken due to other niche platformers suffering the same issue. But even once you fix these issues stuff like running is still broken, and more times than not will just result in moving SLOWER. You also cannot press jump right when you start running, or you'll just stand still. (You can, however, do a glitchy jump if you jump right as you flip gravity) I also felt the sawblade hitboxes were HUGE compared to their sprites, but that might just be because I'm used to precision games where the hitboxes match / give leniency. I assume the…

Redactem, developed by Elliott Jones and published by Conglomerate 5, is a tightly focused 2D puzzle-platformer that builds its entire identity around a small set of mechanics and then pushes them to their limits. It doesn’t attempt to overwhelm players with narrative or sprawling systems; instead, it commits to a minimalist design philosophy where the challenge comes from mastering movement and understanding how to manipulate the game’s core rules. This deliberate restraint gives the game a clear sense of purpose, presenting itself less as a traditional adventure and more as a series of intricate, skill-based trials. The defining feature of Redactem lies in its fusion of time manipulation and gravity control. These mechanics are not merely gimmicks but fundamental tools that reshape how players approach each level. The ability to rewind time allows for experimentation without permanent punishment, encouraging players to test ideas, learn from mistakes, and refine their approach. Meanwhile, gravity shifting introduces spatial complexity, forcing players to reconsider orientation and movement in ways that go beyond standard platforming. Together, these systems create puzzles that a…

You can cheese the achievements. 100% can be achieved by doing only 1 level.
