About Braid, Anniversary Edition

✦ AI summary

Manipulate time in ingenious ways—rewinding, pausing, and bending temporal physics—to solve intricate platform puzzles across beautifully hand-painted worlds while uncovering a haunting tale of memory and regret. This Anniversary Edition remasters the indie classic with stunning high-resolution artwork, enhanced audio, and over 15 hours of developer commentary offering unprecedented creative insight.

Control the flow of time to solve subtle platform puzzles in this update of the indie classic "Braid," featuring refreshed artwork and seriously in-depth creator commentary. Travel from a city house through a series of interconnected worlds where time behaves strangely, searching for an elusive Princess. Along the way you'll explore memories and regrets that still haunt you. This Anniversary Edition remaster of the award-winning platformer contains fully repainted high-resolution graphics, new sound effects and extensive audio commentary.

MANIPULATE TIME TO MOVE FORWARD

Rewind, pause and use the strange properties of time in each world to run and jump through beautifully painted environments. Avoid hazards, unlock doors and collect jigsaw puzzle pieces to assemble. If you get hung up on a particular puzzle, feel free to move on and return later.

A FRESH COAT OF PAINT

This is the game you remember, with all the original challenges and the same haunting, evocative score — but repainted pixel by pixel so that each carefully rendered world comes to life in high resolution. New visual details, animated brushstroke effects and revamped sounds add to the immersive experience.

GO (DEEP) BEHIND THE SCENES

Explore the most extensive developer commentary ever put into a game, with over 15 hours of recorded insight and conversation from developer Jonathan Blow, artist David Hellman and more members of the "Braid" creative team. Navigate it by visiting a new in-game world, which also contains new puzzles and redesigns of classic puzzles.

Order of the Sinking Star,

Great puzzle game. Friend told me its the same dev behind the witness and Order of the Sinking Star so I knew I was in for a treat. There's a secret ending with all the stars and oh boy those puzzles are fun. Highly reccommend.

I always knew Braid was a classic, but I took a long time to actually sit down and play it. It's such a different experience to enjoy a video game that doesn't scream the answers at you if you stop for more than a minute to think. The plot itself is really clever, vague enough to allow multiple interpretations, but solid enough to make sure anyone can understand it.

Outstanding game, never played the original, so the ability to change between old and new graphics at any time is a nice touch and gives a lot of value to the craft of everything (especially after listening to the dev commentary on the art), the game itself has a great concept with great execution, no notes there, it's great overall, it's one of those, this game is so good, why hasn't anyone copied it during all this time?, maybe this is the best version of the game and to top that would be pretty hard The story, or the value that I got out of what I saw and experienced, since the it's not a linear straight forward story like in most games, will be on my mind and make me look at the world in a different way, that being said, it's open to interpretation, so your millage may vary Definitely recommend the game to everyone that enjoys puzzles or is looking for a more unique game experience On the developer commentary, listened to everything and enjoyed the new levels that where added for the puzzle pieces, the alternate levels where also very interesting but the highlight in the dev commentary was in the sound department since it's where I have the least knowledge in, the art and…

I came in to this game expecting a platformer like Mario with time puzzles. This is more like portal. I really recommend playing this slow and don’t worry about getting to the end. You need to complete all puzzles to get the ending so try not to skip any along the way.
