With a combination of business strategy and role-playing game styles plus a free-form sandbox game mode, four cities (Paris, Rome, Munich and LA), four cuisines (French, Italian, German and American), and over 30 playable chefs and a host of locations to travel to, Restaurant Empire 2 is an epicurean delight of gastronomic proportions!
A brand-new 16-mission campaign that gives us a look at the ongoing story of the Leboufs, as they try to tiptoe through the minefield of marriage and the unique circumstances of professional success. The campaign from the original Restaurant Empire is also included. It has been remastered with high quality graphics containing 18 missions.

So let me get this straight: you're gonna use GenAI to make new capsule art for a game that came out... *checks* SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO? Man, even older games aren't safe anymore. Thanks for ensuring that I'll never buy another of your games, past or present, Enlight!

Leaving a negative review because the game got recently updated after not being touched since 2015, only to replace all the artwork on the Steam library with AI-generated garbage. Why do it now? People who see this game for the first time will see the ugly AI artwork and not even bother touching the game, so all this does is paint you guys in a bad light. Will gladly remove this review if the devs reconsider and bring back the original art. Old games like this should be preserved, not retroactively updated with lazy, lame genAI. (also for clarification I already owned the game before getting it on Steam (before the AI stuff got added), in case you're wondering about the short playtime).

Restaurant Empire II is a restaurant management simulation developed and published by Enlight Software Limited. Building upon the foundation of its predecessor, the game offers a remarkably detailed look into the restaurant business, giving players control over nearly every aspect of creating, operating, and expanding a culinary empire. Even though it was released years ago, it remains one of the more ambitious management titles in its genre thanks to its combination of business strategy, restaurant design, staff supervision, and culinary development. The game places players in the role of an entrepreneur determined to establish a successful chain of restaurants across several international cities. Through both campaign and sandbox modes, players are challenged to grow from modest beginnings into industry leaders. The campaign mode introduces a storyline centered around a family-driven business rivalry while simultaneously teaching the core mechanics. The inclusion of a remastered version of the original Restaurant Empire campaign significantly expands the amount of content available, providing a lengthy experience that can keep simulation enthusiasts occupied for many hours. I suspect this will mostly be played by 1) people who played the game back when it came out out of nostalgia, and 2) people who can't get enough restaurant sims. I happen to belong to both categories. I beat both the original and the expanded dessert campaigns, but by the end my empire's finances were struggling. Felt like I scraped by the whole time. There is a LOT of clicking, just very poor user experience. I'm not going to click through every ingredient in every recipe every time I get a new supplier to upgrade ingredients, there should just be a button that says "upgrade all recipe ingredients" or something like that. It's a tedious play. (I don't do a lot of sandbox play; I like meeting the goals in games.) But it is possible to win both campaigns. If you've already played all the restaurant simulation games out there, this may be fun for you. For the average person, it'll be up to their individual level of patience.
