A neat little collectathon platformer that only takes 1-2 hours to 100% (online walkthrough may be required for how to get the 2 extra endings). One thing to be aware of is that it does not support the controller's analog stick for movement, though of course you can map it in via third party utilities, or Steam Client's own controller mapping UI. I used JoyToKey myself, and the only issue was that I still couldn't jump down through platforms unless using the D-Pad.

In nomine gameri, Just listen to that woonderful opening song! Just look at the pure retro style graphics! This is the call for an Adventure. Jump your way through that other island and collect ring alng the way, all of them! What more arguments do you need to play that game? Well, you play a pink T-Rex. The Gamortician says Yes.

This game felt incredibly nostalgic and brought me back to the days when I was playing my lil knock off NES. Short but fun! It's worth trying it out if you love old NES like games. The music is stellar and i'm always a huge fan of the simplistic pixelated graphics. I had fun figuring out all the endings! Overall a very nice experience, always happy to play more Pixeljam games!

Rex: Another Island is a retro-styled platform adventure developed by shysaursoft and published by Pixeljam that builds its identity around exploration, movement, and player-driven discovery. Inspired by older generations of platform games while incorporating a more open structure, the game avoids heavily scripted progression in favor of encouraging players to wander through a large world filled with secrets, collectibles, and environmental challenges. It delivers an experience that feels both nostalgic and surprisingly refreshing, especially for players who enjoy uncovering hidden content at their own pace. The adventure takes place across a sprawling interconnected island where exploration serves as the primary source of progression. Instead of dividing gameplay into isolated levels, Rex: Another Island presents a world that gradually reveals itself as players venture farther into dangerous and unfamiliar territory. New areas become opportunities for discovery rather than simple checkpoints between objectives. This structure creates a strong sense of adventure, rewarding curiosity and persistence far more than straightforward completion. Platforming mechanics form the foundatio…

This is one of those games where it's extremely simple, short and easy, but sometimes that's all you want and need. Sometimes these kind of games can have small issues with mechanics, but they also were extremely solid. Only actual problem I encountered was that camera smoothing was making me extremely motion sick, but it appears that's locked to framerate and I have 165Hz display so it was moving almost three times faster than it should've, but locking the camera before starting made it playable.

Fun, short adventure. Music is AMAZING. Graphics are nice and evoke old school PC gaming feeling. Some of the platforming is surprisingly challenging but respawns are fast and checkpoints close by so it's not bad at all. I can't prove it but I felt like there something wrong with jumping while playing on keyboard, so I'd recommend a controller for this.
