great remaster, comes with an additional episode and a level editor as well, with in-game access to workshop. I only played the 1st episode as a kid so majority of the game is new to me
A very simple and fun platformer. Easy enough to be super casual, something to do as you listen to a podcast.
Seeing the original on Steam was a surprise. But a remaster with a new episode, achievements and a level editor? Kinda crazy to me because I was playing this as a kid in the 90's. Now the game has a soundtrack which in my opinion makes it a bit more alive. I also like that the controls feel smoother because it runs at 60 FPS instead of 18. Don't expect a huge difference when it comes to graphics, it's still a title with pixel art. Some textures which are repeated a lot were changed to look smoother and less pixelated, I assume to make them less tiresome for the eyes. But the overall look of the original is preserved and I believe that was right thing to do. The story and gameplay loop are the same as the OG, so I decided to skip those details in this review. old school classic.
I have been looking for this game for so long and it is just as good as I remember. I used to play it at a friend's house from a floppy disc and only ever knew it as SAM1. Great to see classic games on Steam and with the adaptation to use a controller.
Nostalgia - I first got to play this on 286 computer at 1993 or so, I was completly hooked then by computer games. Good times :)
