About Seedsow Lullaby

【INTRODUCTION】

Following three women on an adventure through the Land of the Gods,
Seedsow Lullaby is a visual novel that features no choices or branching paths.

*There are some scenes depicting flood trauma in the story.

【STORY】

Misuzu lost her mother at a young age.
On her sixteenth birthday, in the spring of 2023, she is visited by a lone girl.
The girl turns out to be her mother, Yoko, also aged sixteen.

Yoko explains that she has been chosen as a Maiden to conduct the Seedsow Ceremony in the dwelling place of the gods, the Eternal Realm, and has traveled from 1996 to invite Misuzu along on her journey.

The Seedsow Ceremony is a funeral for the gods, and is necessary for a new generation of immortal deities to usher in a new age. Seedsow Maidens must travel the Eternal Realm and have the ancient god elders accept their deaths before True Winter comes and defiles the land.

Accompanying her mother Yoko, Misuzu travels to the year 2050, where her own sixteen-year-old daughter, Tsumugi, joins them as they make for the Eternal Realm.

With the addition of Hiruko, who claims to be Misuzu's younger brother and acts as the group's guide, the foursome journey through lush landscapes made no less resplendent by True Winter's looming approach.

The young group has been brought together as though by a miracle, but what awaits them at the end of their journey?

Overall, I thought that this was an enjoyable read. The premise and art style caught my attention, and was able to keep it for the duration of the story. I think the VN made good use of it's runtime, with most of the scenes feeling important or not "out of place" in the story, and very rarely did it feel like a portion dragged out for too long. I think it also does a good job fleshing out the main cast, and you could really see them grow close to one another while feeling natural or organic. Of the tags that the game is listed as on Steam, adventure and emotional are probably the most prevalent themes throughout the story. It also gets points for being visually appealing to look at. There's a lot of different CGs used, and the art style and setting does remind me of a Studio Ghibli movie. My only complaint is that there were a few scenes that did feel frustrating, either for dragging on forever, or reminding me of the classic anime misunderstandings or not being able to communicate properly. Personally, I didn't have a problem with Seedsow Lullaby being a kinetic visual novel with no choices or branching paths, but I can see it potentially being a turn off for some re…

TL;DR – Cute girls going on an amazing adventure that made me ugly cry for the last hour? Sign me up! Like I always do with visual novels, I love going into a new story as blindly as possible. I usually just read a short description, maybe check the overall score on VNDB or Steam, or read a quick review from a fellow fan like myself, just to keep my expectations grounded. And oh boy, it was worth it once again. *Seedsow Lullaby* (or *TaneUta*) truly felt like I was experiencing an incredible movie, and I mean that in the most positive way possible. Unlike many other VNs, where your choices actively change the direction of the story, this one doesn't have a single choice to make. Instead, it felt like I could simply sit back and enjoy the ride, like listening to a sweet lullaby being sung (see what I did there?). For me, the story itself, together with its lovable and incredible characters, came together to create something that truly resonated with me and my own life. Watching the characters struggle and find their own motivations, while exploring so many beautiful themes, made the whole journey feel deeply personal. It honestly felt like I had lived this amazing adventure…

children of the past, present and future of the various generations aboard the grandest journey of all really good vn that ditches many storytelling beats that make it feel like ghibli film and the artstyle expresses it too the ways its explored family and morality of death is very interesting but dont think about the timeline too much or else your head will explode
man i wish what tsumugi got to do after she got back to her timeline, it would mark a nice complete circle yet causes a paradox of sorts too..
if it got adapted into a anime series (hopefully a good one) that would be awesome its nice
