I grew up with Bubble Bobble, and i simply CAN'T downvote a game like this. Co-op without spending another coin? Just great.

This game is fantastic, it is like Smash Brothers meets wave based combat (vs mode and the wave arcade mode) 4 player MP is fantastic! A+ will be back with an interview with the developer and our review. Interview with Reece Geofroy Founder of Boundless Studios and sole developer of Shield Shock : https://youtu.be/Fu7C9K14okI?t=854 This is a game that for only 5 dollars generates endless fun. If Shield Shock was free, I would say, go ahead and give it a try, but I do not see any reason to pay for what is essentially an endless mode to some non-existent 2D rogue-like side-scroller. There are four tiny arenas to play in, with a fifth hidden behind a $2 DLC, where all you do is kill the same four or five spawning monsters, earning coins, and upgrading your abilities, until you die. There are eight or so different characters to play as, with their own unique abilities and play styles, but even then, the game gets boring and repetitive in under an hour. With no achievements, or unlockables of any kind, there is simply no reason to keep playing.

Really fun casual game. You can just pick up and play whenever you like, and the variety of characters makes it repayable!

The controls aren't particularly tight, and everything moves incredibly fast. So you never really feel like you have enough time to react properly. You'll simply wonder why you died, and then while you wonder that, you'll die again.

Shield Shock is a 2D retro pixel platformer/shooter that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's basically a copy + paste of a common GameMaker Studio/Yoyogames store Project/template, as I've pretty much played the exact same game several times before (from Clowns, Bad Girl, The incredible friends and so on). Some things have been changed around/added, however, so this isn't a pure asset flip, just mostly one. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs. Like most GameMaker Studio construction kit "games", this features lazy 2D retro pixel "art", instead of professionally done, contemporary PC graphics. Controls and resolution are locked, which pushes this below acceptable standards for PC. In this case the developer doesn't have a long …
