Cute. Very short and fun. Hilarious characters. Some mechanics reminded me of Undertale. The most you can really get out of this game is about 10-15 hours, 20 if you really, really stretch it, but there's no reason. I have almost reached 100% completion and I haven't even reached 10 hours, so... do with that what you will. Get this when it's on sale. Play it in between longer games or when you just need a break from grinding in Stardew or Mistria.

First and foremost, I must begin this review with the most important point. This game is not a farming sim in the style of Stardew Valley, but a casual adventure game in which the primary focus is on storytelling, whilst farming in the broadest sense takes a back seat. Game has a fairly simple but engaging story overall, a cast of NPCs who serve as quest givers but also have their own stories to tell, some combat, some gathering, and some farming. It’s small, and let’s be honest, it’s cheap, but it’s not a poor-quality product. Overall, it’s a very relaxing, “brain-off” type of game. It’s not too difficult, and contrary to first impressions, there’s no time pressure either. Based on this description, you’d think a player would give up on it after a few minutes, but it has its own little, quirky charm and is actually a good way to kill time when you’re waiting for something or don’t want to get too stressed out. I Love this game, I like the twist it adds to the genre, and is overall a great game, with great spritework.

What a delightful little game! I bought it because I have kind of been on a farming game streak lately and based on a couple YouTube videos about Shinehill that I saw, I thought this could be an interesting short one to play in between some longer more time consuming ones. Also, I thought the idea of you being an alien in disguise was really fun and different. So, what happened is I ended up 100%:ing the game and having so much fun. Nothing really felt like a chore, the game was not too grindy, it had no time to get too repetitive, the story was good enough, the characters were distinct and likable... The mini games were actually really nice and different as well. And even though I am now done with the game, it seems like there will be a major update this month or so they say, so if that ends up happening I for one will certainly be checking it out! All in all, a lovely experience and I can certainly recommend Shinehill for everyone. :)
