Signal is very basic, very barebone.

Not bad for a free game.

Signal 2025 is a pretty interesting action adventure that surprised me with how much it tries to fit into its short experience. I play as someone searching for an old mentor after receiving a distress message on a dark and mysterious planet. I liked the combination of futuristic exploration, martial arts and survival elements because it gives the game a personality that feels different from a more traditional side scrolling adventure. The combat is easily the part I enjoyed the most. I can use martial arts combos, dodge incoming attacks and fight a variety of hostile creatures that can punish me pretty quickly when I stop paying attention. The fighting feels fast and fairly aggressive, and I liked having to react rather than simply attacking everything without thinking. Some encounters can be surprisingly brutal, which gives the exploration a nice sense of danger. Exploration is also important because the planet is split into distinct areas filled with secrets and useful resources. As I push forward, I can discover information about my mentor and gain new powers that help me deal with later challenges. Great job for a student project. I enjoyed the game play. A fun little game that will take about an hour to complete.
