A visual novel about an old lady running a tea shop, and of the stories of the people that visits her tea shop. The story is very engaging and informational at times, like how you can learn about tea and also a little about the cultures of tea in different parts of the world. The themes of the stories can get very deep, emotional and philosophical, but I think that's what makes this game good. The overall feel of the game is cozy melancholic for me, and it makes me think about things that I've never thought of before
there are a lot of themes I like in the game, one of them is where Ms. Meadows says about looking in the mirror but discovering a stranger staring back at you
I also like the poems in the game, all of the poems are very good, and you can also sort of craft your own poem (well you just sort of pick which word goes where and you can chose the themes and not really make your own but still!) The art style is comforting to look at, and the voice over is amazing, though the voices are too low for me that I had to max the volume on my PC in order to hear the voices clearly Overall the game may take around 2-3 hours to finish, but it depends on your re…3 found this helpful
despite being tea propaganda, loved how cozy and introspective it was.2 found this helpful
I don’t want to say too much about why this game was meaningful for me to play, as it risks heavy spoilers. But I highly encourage anyone who enjoys slice-of-life visual novels to experience this story. Excited to complete more playthroughs to unlock all the Author’s notes.2 found this helpful
If there's 3 things that best describe what I like, it's tea, poetry, and a good cry. This game has all of these in abundance so suffice to say I was spoiled! This is a visually gorgeous VN from character design, to the tearoom itself. The mechanics of brewing the tea by hand is such a calming and joyful experience, followed by such depth of relatability in character backstory and memories told in glorious detail. Praise also for the voice acting which truly lifted this game to a whole new level. When they celebrated, I cheered for and with them. When they mourned my heart broke too, and by the end I felt a shift in me that has stayed forever etched on my heart. A flawless and beautiful story that gave me many a pause to have the deep heavy conversations that aren't always easy to have but are important to explore. Cannot recommend this enough, though do bring a tissue and a hot cup of tea with you when you do!2 found this helpful
I enjoyed discovering what the game is about as the story revealed itself2 found this helpful
Sip and Sonnets was such a cute and cozy little game. From the moment I started playing, I loved the relaxing atmosphere and charming art style. It felt like the perfect game to unwind with while still giving me fun little puzzles to solve. I'll admit, figuring out the measurements in the evening had me completely stumped at first! Once it clicked, though, it was incredibly satisfying, and I appreciated how the game encouraged me to think a little differently. One of my favorite parts was meeting all of the different personalities along the way. Every character added something special to the experience, making the world feel warm and inviting. If you're looking for a cozy game with charming characters, clever puzzles, and a relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend Sip and Sonnets. It was a delightful experience from start to finish.1 found this helpful
