From all angles this should've been an easy win for me. Price is right, amount of content is right, theming is right, but the fundamentals just aren't there. I'd rather have less levels and assets I didn't bounce on 20% of every grind. Objects that haven't had their collision dummied out, minifences that haven't had their geometry set properly so when you grind them and jump you can accidentally "snap" immediately back down. No way to switch grinds, if there's a level out button I missed it. Starting a manual is like rolling a die on if its balance is in a completely immediate bail state. Clothing to pick and unlock but no way to color it. Board customization is there, that neon pink and neon red shader? That's perfect THPSU. But playing it is like being condemned to a drunken mis-input by proxy of weird geometry and sloppy code mine. I really wanted to like this, I'm aware I'm not even a fantastic, hell, good, TH player but man why bother? Yknow PSX thps1 is weighty and a bit floaty but at least when you grind you know what that is going to do. Holy pile of trash. As a THPS enjoyer, this is just GARBAGE. The fact that you have to hold Ollie just to start cruising is absolutely diabolic. It feels awful and is incredibly annoying. The controls are some of the worst I've ever used, and you can't even properly remap them. There are some fun exploits, though. Starting a manual and spamming Ollie while holding S gives you a ridiculous multiplier, and you can do similar nonsense with 50-50 grinds. Honestly, messing around with those is probably the most fun I've had. But even the basic grind controls are janky as hell. Holding the grind key doesn't work properly—you have to press grind at the exact moment you jump into the rail. If you're coming from THPS expecting tight, responsive controls, stay away.

this game somehow plays worse than THPS5. If you play THPS games to score don't even waste your time. I wish I didnt have to say that, was looking forward to checking this game out

I'd consider this a 5 or 6/10 that, while having many elements from Tony Hawk I enjoy (and even a couple expansions on those games' ideas), there are too many technical negatives to wholeheartedly recommend. + unique level themes + all of the soundtrack bangs + unlocking more cosmetics as you complete goals + secret areas are fun to unlock, and getting new board types is a great reward for them + the tony hawk formula continues to work well as a sandbox for expressive movement = i wish the cosmetic item unlocks were all unique (with more pieces), and all recolors were just options within an unlock = i wish the soundtrack was at least double in size, with maybe some hip-hop and even some local acts from her hometown = the level design, while alright, left much to be desired (not nearly the flow of a Neversoft map), and goals did not ramp up in difficulty NEARLY enough. Perhaps a unlockable hard mode with new objectives that incorporate the entire level + secret areas? = skater body during flip tricks feels a little lifeless = Goal objectives should be larger and more clearly marked in-game - bugged achievements for tasks that are not something I'd consider "achievements" - abse…

Maybe the worst game that I have ever played. No hyperbole. I mean it... after all, something has to be literally the biggest piece of ♥♥♥♥ that you have ever wasted money on. I think this is it. The controls are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible. There is constant screen tearing and the graphics are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I actually hate this game. The developers should have to go door to door in their neighborhood and apologize.

If i could i would give this a neutral review. There's a few issues but it's fun to play PROS: - Multiple levels and challenges - Nice outfits and boards to use - About 3 to 4 hours to complete 100% challenges CONS: - Achievements were broken on release and they're still broken today - The speed of the player is too fast and can get annoying - No player stats to tweak - The FOV is too close to the player even when set to far distance - The FPS is locked to 60 - The price is a bit too much for only 3 to 4 hours of gameplay. 6/10 It's fun, but buy on sale
