About Slinki
Slinki is a hard-as-nails 2.5D action-platformer where your own prosthetic arm is the ultimate multipurpose weapon: Use it as a bladed boomerang to control the population of mutated critters, pull levers towards you to get through puzzles and zip-line across grappling surfaces. Furthermore, instead of having your weapon return to you, why not return to it instead with the power of Slinki's slingshot? All this to find out what happened to the once peaceful forest you used to live in.
Slinki's once peaceful and smooth-running home has gone horribly wrong, with every denizen gone crooked and twisted, and irrevocably hostile. Himself affected and warped as well, Slinki can just sit there and waste away, or take the last of his strength to the Forest's Core, and end the misery whatever ill-bred rascal thought to fester in it's depths.
Plot

Graphics are dark and it's difficult to see what you can jump on and what the background is. The music is bland and its just not a fun platformer at all. It's not worth buying on sale- there are much better platformers on Steam than this.2 found this helpful
Like a Sonic game,if any of them were actually good. PS: BUY THIS. This game is too badass of a game to be forgotten. It may not be very story based,but the gameplay is very challenging & rewarding. Your best friends in the game will be the jump button & your trusty cybernetically enhanced arm which can be used as both a boomerang & a slingshot,if you want to get to the end of each level as fast as you can. I hope the devs make a sequel to this game some day...maybe with more story & lore behind how Slinki's life was before his transformation by Mr. Owl's corruption? I'm just throwing out ideas. I would gladly put down my money for a sequel to this.
Controller mappings don't seem to work... the keyboard was disabled or something, so I could only use the spacebar to select things. This means I had to select Portugese as a language, and the only option available to me because the controls are shot was to exit. If that's representative of the quality of the rest of the game, maybe it's good I never got a chance to play past the title screen.

If I had good original game from each of these franchises I would not even bother with the indie knockoffs but these are hard to come by legally on PC for some unfortunate reason. Unlike 8bit boy who stays rather faithful to the source material in inspiration and mechanics, slinki decides to discard the trademark speed and rolling mechanics of sonic. Replacing them by a boomerang. The mechanic is abused for every foe and every platform. Platforms are laid out in uninventive staircase patterns everywhere. You constantly feel like you are replaying the same section over and over again with the same type of level design…
