Snaky Survivor

It always amaze me how one person can create a game alone from scratch and be this nice and smooth to play. The gameplay is easy enough with simple mechanics: move fast, don't starve and keep doing your best. But it doesn't mean it's boring or easy, each level feels different enough, and is so satisfying to get a near miss that I couldn't help myself but trying my best to get the longest streak on every game. There's a lot of details that add to the flavor of the game, like the colors on each scene, bullet time for near misses, particles and smooth transitions between animations. The game starts simple and your instinct may misguide you thinking this is a “snake game”, well yes and no. You control a snake-ish character, yes, but your growth is determined by the longer you progress through the game and not in each level. You have to eat, but to survive, not to grow. And you may think that you must survive colliding with walls, but no: There are plenty of enemies that go from arrows, homing missiles, lasers, and more that I won’t spoil here (the cubes change the scenario itself!). But the worst enemy here is time itself: You must survive a determined amount of time on each level to complete it, but that’s not it, because your character will be gradually losing life over time, hence the need to eat enough food to resist the established time. As you gradually pass through the levels you may think this is a piece of cake, but it’s not. Believe me. The first levels are just the setting of the game rules, but after that the rules start to change, the enemies and colors start to change and the music does as well. Each level is filled with different combinations of enemies and walls that put your reflex to the test in different situations, and once you master tha…
