carbon copy of digimight's call of honor, except there's no resource collection, restoring buildings or quests here. one would think this came first, then they added more stuff but it doesn't seem to be the case. it costs about half as much though. basic +1/-1 solitaire, 200 levels, a bunch of blocking mechanics, some pretty annoying. the usual weak narrative (2 endings though, didn't expect that) and mandatory tutorial messages that come up on level replays as well. wallpapers, jigsaws and character bios unlock as you go through the game. wildcards are rare and only 4 of them can be held but other helpers appear on cards briefly. money is spent on jokers and power-ups (shuffle, remove a card, etc.) unlocked at certain levels, then can be used once between each cooldown, based on the number of cards played. buying the ones in the shop adds another use before the cooldown kicks in. can't get more undos or cards per level, always a bummer, but power-ups work on covered and blocking cards once again. separate volume settings, windowed mode (smaller, non-resizable), custom cursor, a few card backs and fronts, level …

I love these +1/-1 solitaire games, and I'd never played one developed by DigiMight, so I wanted to get their take on the formula. Overall, I think that they did a pretty good job. Although the abilities were simple and straightforward, they certainly aided in the completion of some of the more challenging levels. I also liked the tension created by the time pressure cards present on the tableau. If you remove too many other cards without removing the time pressure obstacles, a card will either be subtracted from your deck or added to the board, depending on the obstacle color. Blue obstacles remove a card from your deck, while orange ones add an additional one to the tableau. As always, there is room for improvement. Although the player can have up to two uses for each ability, the in-game display does not indicate how many uses you have remaining. Therefore, you'll sometimes be caught off guard (having only one use of an ability when you thought you had two), and may not be able to finish levels that you thought you had "in the bag." There are also level obstacles that cannot be removed unless the player achieves a streak of perhaps four card removals. This isn't a bad idea i…
