The lands of the Finnish tribes in the far north are hard to conquer, but under the pretext of spreading Christianity among pagans, the neighboring Swedes aim to invade. When the old gods are threatened and the old believers face suppression and death, the tribesmen rise up for their homeland. But against such a powerful foe, ordinary warriors may not be enough. Sotidrokhima is a story-driven hack-and-slash with simple character progression. As the titular folk-hero from Karelia, Finland, you must fight your way through hordes of enemies using anything from sword to bows to javelins - and renowned weapons of the Finnish gods themselves.

If you play this I strongly recommend using Cheat Engine to slow the game during the duels as they are incredibly unreasonable/borderline impossible. Otherwise the cutscenes are great. The top down combat is fine though requires some cheese to get through. But you're really here for the cutscenes and boy do they deliver. The Swedes may have the power of god on their side but the Finns have 100% domination over anime.5 found this helpful
baller as ♥♥♥♥. it's fist of the north star by way of metalocalypse but finnish. the difficulty is perfect - hard and unforgiving but it forces you to gid gud and learn some of the mechanics. anime cutscenes are absolutely kino and the whole thing is dripping with soul. if this was released on newgrounds in 2004 it'd be foundational internet media.4 found this helpful

May the world know of how much you hate the swedes. ♥♥♥♥ the swedes, all the homies hate the swedes, I'll smash their head in just like my goat sotidrokhima and drink deer piss in celebration it just makes me so giddy and happy and jolly and jovial and smiley. I just want to run a spear through all the swedes and their priests and destroy sweden to the last man. Even Lalli knows it. Speaking of Lalli, I think I'd honestly have his kids. Idk bro when he just looks at me like this it just makes me want to smash some more swedish heads in and to make more fins with him so that we can kill more swedes with my little fins bro I just want to kill them all.
