"Souls Lore" is is not primarily intended to be a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "RPG Maker MZ". Usually I'd just say "Oh look another RPG Maker asset flip", but it's not really asset flipping when you own the product... regardless, this Final Fantasy ripoff pixelcrap garbage is slapped together with RPG Maker because the purpose is to make people buy RPG Maker so they can infest Steam with even more amateur high school anime club dropout fan-fictions slapped together with this childrens construction kit. We don't need more deficient ripoffs of Final Fantasy 1 in 2026. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out a whopping $80 USD on buying RPG Maker MZ, and I don't recommend you do that either. There's no English translation, but it makes no difference. The language of bad games is universal. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. I slayed the alien within 7hours to tell you whether this game is good or not. It was brilliant, wished it were longer. It is traditional RPG which follows the FFV job system, with skills and permanent stats from levelling job class. One thing to note is that there is one cave that is not developed, I think developer made the decision not to add more content after creating it. The random encounter rate is very high, it is based on probability per step. How I know this is because when I opened the menu to heal just after battle, the next step is random encounter. RPGmaker let you set encounter rate by steps and probability but seeing 1 step encounter suggests it is entirely on probability without the number of steps limiting the probability. I know how RPGmaker works because I was playing with the functions and creating a trash game. The mob do alot of damage, early to mid-game you are doing the same amount of damage as them. With the long fight and high encounter rate, it distracts the player from exploring. It is easy to get lost and unintentionally backtrack in dungeons as they also have puzzles or gimmicks which need you to do certain things to progress. They aren't hard but i…
