I just purchased it and can say its fun...until it collapsed on me. Then i was like oh it was just a fluke so I gave it another go....about 5 mins in it shut down my pc? Not sure what's going on but its kind of unplayable and its disappointing because I liked the idea of it!
It's a perfectly serviceable shoot-em-up action roguelike. You play as a cute little wizard who's trying to claim a spellbook but must empty its mana reserves before doing so. The spritework is very cute, especially for a first-time dev. There's five different starting spell groups to start with and a bunch of different treasures to help you mow down the legions of monsters the spellbook is summoning, and after each round you're given a certain amount of crystals to either unlock new treasure, upgrade your currently owned treasures, or to recover health. You also accumulate experience points by killing monsters, which is used to upgrade your main shot type and spells. As meta-currency, you have magic crystals which are used to permanently unlock the other starting spell groups as well as upgrade your wizard. You acquire these by completing achievements and by finishing runs on harder and harder trials, which increase the difficulty. Presumably, this means you'll be going through the same rooms and fighting the same monsters who will be getting beefier and more stronger each new trial run, but fortunately the main game isn't very long.
