Stagelands – eternal defense

Stagelands just didn’t keep me interested. The gameplay got boring pretty quickly, and there wasn’t enough happening to make me want to keep playing.

There's only a superficial "game" here. This is an extremely poorly done "castle defense" game (not to be confused with a tower defense game, those have strategy as you gotta work out which towers to place where etc). The idea behind the game is to spend all your money in the cash shop so you can put powerful enough troops in your single tower to kill the waves of baddies... this is incredibly shallow even for an "autobattler". But then, being a real game was never the point. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. Fun Free to play Game Spent $0 Reach over Wave 900 and Counting. Unlocked half the units and leveled up over 150. Wish Towerlands would come to Steam. And for all the Negative reviews, "They" are jest so lazy to jest play the game and relax.

[h1]Great Concept but Way Too Greedy.[/h1] Stage Lands is a multi-layered tower defense game, which is a unique and great concept yet many other of its own flaws made this game being not successfull. From the beginning the progression is really quick and entertaining, the new units and layers gets more interesting and the upgradeble buildings really useful to invest in, as well as the captured towns. The first momentum is really strong and hook you in the first hours. The real problem altough comes early and gets significantly worse as you progress, you can buy units and some units are closed behind a pay wall as many mechanics can be invoked earlier. Soon you will find your layers being empty, because the free-to-play materials start to be less and less sufficient and it takes much more time to aquire or level up the heroes. The real wall will hit you around Wave 280 where you need multiple days to train your units and the income is so insignificant that at this point its a must to open your wallet for reasonable progress. It's also worth to mention to try and avoid global and guild chat as much as possible, as there is only a few players left and they constantly argue childishl…

A lot of broken english, glitches, micro-transactions and imbalances. Clan battles have no explanation. events are pointless, way too short to complete most of them. Few clans are active. Honestly this is a terrible game and I have wasted way too much time on it. I got it for free but that price is too high.

Fun. Time killer. At a certain point. around 40 hours, it will become a grind that makes you feel that you have to make purchases if you really want to keep moving ahead at the pace you previously were. Note, I have not made a purchase yet, though if the 15.00 "battle pass" packs had a 5.00 surprise blowout sale, I would grab that. Also, difficulty levels are hit and miss. I still can't get pass this one level that is rated 625 yet was able to defeat multiple levels from 650 to 1000 (when you are in the game you will see what I am talking about). So the map has this 625 level and then jumps to 1050.
