Charmingly, shamelessly Starcraft inspired, down to the campaign structure, and honestly, I am Here for it.15 found this helpful
VERY inspired by Starcraft.
Single-player campaigns with classic objectives: reach point X, destroy enemy bases, protect convoy, destroy convoy, defend a base for X minutes, etc. Story with heroes and a plot. Skirmish mode. Basically similar to Starcraft 1.5 found this helpful
StarSim: BattleZone – Early Thoughts StarSim: BattleZone tries to bring classic StarCraft-like RTS gameplay into the StarSim universe, created by solo dev. For a one-man project, the visuals, music and even voice work are surprisingly decent (if its not AI ?!) — but the game currently feels like a rough, low-budget imitation of bigger RTS titles. Most missions are either too shallow (huge empty maps) or unplayable due to poor balance. There are bugs, sound drop-outs and some visual issues (like the minimap). The core mechanics are familiar, but there’s very little originality and the pacing needs serious tuning. That said, the developer has built-in bug reporting and seems willing to let players test and shape the game. He already works on other projects, so there is a chance his overall work and this game could grointo something better with time and patches, or not.... For now, not recommended — but it might become decent IF the dev keeps improving it.4 found this helpful
The third mission is a little hard, and the fourth is confusing at the start. But overall, the game is fine.1 found this helpful
The first three missions are sort of boring, but then it gets better. As someone mentioned in the reviews, it’s a shameless StarCraft clone, but it’s still kinda fun.1 found this helpful
