Starwalker tries to be deep and emotional, but most of the time, it just feels slow. Walking from one area to another takes forever and you need to be an advanced character to not get stuck in the woods. Sometimes you get a cool moment or an interesting encounter, but then it’s followed by 30 minutes of wandering as a new character. The learning curve is steep, you are a nobody for quite a while. Even when the story hits, it’s vague. You don’t get clear context, so it’s hard to stay engaged. I wanted to care about the characters and the world, but the game doesn’t help you connect the dots much. Might give it another shot when they give more updates or more lore. DOWNVOTE

Game is addictive in a way I haven’t experienced yet, just one more quest turned into hours of gameplay. Breathtaking environments with day-night cycles that actually matter to gameplay

Game is addictive in a way I haven’t experienced yet, just one more quest turned into hours of gameplay. 10/10 would die of dehydration again. I have no idea what’s going on in Starwalker. I woke up half-naked in a field, drank water out of a pond like a deranged squirrel, and got tired from walking 40 meters. The game slapped me in the face and said, “Survive.” No tutorial, no hand-holding, just vibes and dehydration. I walked a kilometer and gained 3 stamina. Big whoop. But I earned that 3 stamina, and now no one can take it from me, not even the next rabies deer that decides to trample me out of nowhere. I’ve fist-fought strangers, hid in rivers like a wet rat and danced alone at sunrise. I hate this game’s guts and yet I think about it when I’m not playing. Is that Stockholm syndrome? I don’t know. All I know is the forest is watching, and I’m thirsty again.

Immersive sound ambiance, vast open-world, good survival mechanics, realistic nature, nice day and night cycle animals, lakes make it nice to play. All the ingredients to be a great game.

Spent more time getting food than actually enjoying the game. Garbage.

Lots of good things on the game, UI, leveling up, great immersion and love the quests! I was confused at first since the game had basically no objective, guidance or map. It throws you in a giant rotating alien ecosystem and goes, “Survive. Go on. Figure it out.” The world is very open and atmospheric and after a while I kind of forgot I was actually playing the game. Trees sway, birds chirp, cute villages, it was nice. The character also gives a lot of signals. When he was tired, I had to sit or when I ran too hard, the breathing became louder. You really have to immerse yourself and listen to your character if you want to understand the mechanics and make progress quickly, which is cool.
