It looks better than the original, but still has issues with tiny, difficult to spot items that end up being required to solve puzzles. The puzzles are extremely linear and have only one solution, and even when there's an obvious path, you must solve it the way the game wants you to solve it. Some of the puzzles are of nearly Sierra-level difficulty; at least you can't die or get soft-locked (that I'm aware of). Movement is just as slow as the original, and it wasn't until near the very end of the game that I discovered you can run if you double-click, though she still crawls her way up ladders and stairs. There is a LOT of going back and forth; at one point I had to cross [b]24[/b] different screens to do ONE lousy task.1 found this helpful

I adored the whimsical atmosphere of the first game and how the automatons were these outlandish yet familiar creations spread all across your journey, and Kate Walker, a straight-cut lawyer who finds a sense of adventure. With the cliff hanger ending, I believed that Syberia 2 would simply be continuing that storyline thread and tell an even more interesting story, but unfortunately it doesn't. Syberia 2 has the same backtracking, annoying puzzles, and slow movement the first game has, but somehow it felt more annoying to me this time. Despite this, the art is still beautiful, and getting on the train is still a magical experience but for some reason the game just tosses out what Syberia 1 established? [spoiler] Hans is a weird old man whose motives and history you never fully learn despite sharing a journey with him. Oscar is even more useless and this time it isn't funny. The villains are stupid. The journey has a boring loop of arrive->issue->solve->actually here's another issue->leave on train. Kate's old employers are somehow some shady organization that acts as secondary antagonists and sends someone who is supposed to be chasing her, yet Kate never finds out so th…
