About The Dark Eye: Memoria
Follow two heroes across 450 years as a southern princess fights in an ancient mage war while a bird catcher searches for a way to break his lover's curse, their fates mysteriously intertwined. This classic point-and-click adventure blends puzzle-solving with magical abilities and The Dark Eye's rich fantasy world, delivering an epic narrative across eight beautifully crafted chapters.
Sadja, a Southern princess, has an unstoppable desire to become the greatest hero in history – by joining and succeeding in the biggest war Aventuria has ever seen: The war of the Mages, fought in the middle of an uninhabitable desert.
Bird catcher Geron lives almost 450 years after the Great War. Geron’s eternal love, Nuri, has been turned into a crow by an evil curse. To give her back her human form, Geron needs the help of the mysterious merchant Fahi, who has magical powers. But Fahi is only willing to help Geron if he agrees to solve a puzzle which Fahi has seen in his dreams. The quest for answers soon leads to a chain of events that connects both Sadja's and Geron's stories, threatening to turn the present into a grim reflection of a long forgotten past.
Memoria combines classic point & click adventure gameplay with the features of The Dark Eye, one of the most successful RPG universes known in the fantasy world. Point & click adventure game puzzles get a unique twist by adding magical features – and a wise, talking staff. Over eight chapters, players control both Sadja’s and Geron’s fates, involuntarily interacting with each other and bridging over 500 years of time. Each chapter in Memoria features opulent graphics, epic locations, a thrilling fantasy crime story and a unique puzzle design that differs from chapter to chapter.

Dear narrator, your voice has stolen my heart, I could hear you speak forever ♥18 found this helpful
My favorite daedalic game now, along with the Deponia trilogy. The puzzles feel more constrained and linear than in the prequel, smaller in scale, while the story sequences will jump all over the place. Exploring the Drakonia fortress while flying around was one of the coolest concepts in any adventure game I've played so far.1 found this helpful
I can't yet give a FULL review as nowhere on the store page mentioned it's a sequel to another game, which I realized partway in. The 2 hours I've played have mostly been me fighting with bugs. Whatever they did to port this they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. (It's def not my PC.) Will revisit when I acquire and play the previous (IF it's not also a buggy disaster.)
While it crashes every once autosave, the story is well-written, the puzzles are logical and true to her character. Always amazes me at every turn of the story.
An engaging and well-executed quest. The story grabs your attention from the very beginning, the art style is charming, and puzzles rarely take more than two screens and a bit of thinking (despite lots of magic involved, everything's quite comprehensible). An excellent game for genre's enthusiasts.
The Dark Eye: Memoria is a point-and-click adventure focused on exploring environments, collecting items, combining them, and using spells to progress. I started the game without a guide but eventually switched to using one because I frequently found myself walking back and forth between areas with no clear indication of what to do next. Progression often depends on using spells on specific objects or locations, finding the right item combinations, or performing a particular sequence of interactions. When you miss the next step, progress can come to a complete halt. What frustrated me most was that many solutions didn't feel intuitive. Even after checking a guide, there were numerous moments where I couldn't see how the game had reasonably led me to that conclusion. Rather than feeling rewarded for solving a problem, progression often felt tied to discovering a very specific interaction the game expected. The story was decent enough, and the voice acting fit the characters well. If you're looking for a fully voiced point-and-click adventure and don't mind occasionally relying on a guide, you may enjoy it more than I did.
