Synth Ninja is yet another construction kit template copy+paste from serial shovelware pushers, Volens Nolens Games. These guys (or just one guy flipping accounts to mislead gamers) do nothing but copy premade game templates and game tutorials, fill out a few things/stamp out basic levels using the construction kit templates, slap on an asset flipped set of sprites/assets, and dump them on Steam and into DailyIndieGame bundles as cash grabs. Trying to get paid for someone else's game templates, assets... at best, this is shovelware, at worst, it's a scam/cash grab. Today they've taken an extremely basic template for a VR game and slapped some Neon looking sprites and ripped off a "synthwave" track, hoping to cash in like RewindApp did with his asset flip of that racing game. It's a basic stationary shooter where you stand still and throw stuff using your VR controllers at various blobs that come at you... incredibly shallow, pointless gameplay. But then this was never intended as a game for gamers... it's just a shovelware cash grab. This eerily silent vaporwave game has shouty aiming and no curve when throwing. To get this out of the way, I played with Oculus via Steam Link. I like the aesthetic, but where you're aiming is honestly more up to god than it is to you and your hands. Glad I only spent 50 cents on it, but I'd be unhappy with this even if I got it for free. Oh, and there's no music by default, either.
