If you enjoy classic challenges and a pure retro experience, Tales of Isenberg will not disappoint. It’s entertaining, family-friendly, and clearly an indie project made with heart.

Fun little indie game, I highly recommend it! If you are looking for a retro sidescroller experience, its definitely worth giving it a try!<3

Basically a nice game, for me the basic control was not handy. But luckily it was adjustable in the settings. - The main story is short, which is not necessarily a problem. I think it could have been longer. - The game world is coherent and understandable throughout. - The difficulty is completely okay, it does not reach the level of a ragegame at all. In fact, the overall atmosphere makes it chill despite all the challenges. - The graphics: "I Wanna Be the Guy" style. Now, some people like this, some don't. However, I would like to note that it works, during gameplay it never occurred to me to think about why something looks the way it does, the flow factor really works. - I think the many languages, the dubbing, the fact that there is a coop mode are great things. The only thing I would have liked if there had been an attack on our character in the main story and not just in the boss fight. I completely understand that this is a platformer, but every enemy unit does exactly the same thing, crawling left and right, none of them follow, shoot, throw, etc. There are still some difficult parts of the game, but I felt a slight sense of lack because of that. Mostly a platformer, with bow mechanics mostly necessary late in the main campaign. Great art, music, and strong final castle. Made with heart, and with a slightly cheesable final boss in Campaign 1.

Tales of Isenberg is a 2D medieval fantasy platformer that reminds me of 8-bit titles from the 80's like Megaman (NES,) Castlevania (NES,) Mario Bros. (NES,) Jumpman (C64,) Conan (C64,) Dark Castle (MAC / C64,) and so forth. The visuals are colorful and crisp, the music is outstanding, and it plays great. The controls are very responsive, the jumping feels great, and attacking requires both timing and thought. Nocking an arrow and loosing it is not instantaneous, so it takes some strategy and rhythm to eliminate some of the enemies blocking your path. True to the inspiration it draws from, you do not have a lifebar. Enemies will one shot you if they touch you. Despite that, I found the game to be very chill and a delight to play. I'm grateful to the developers for sending me a Steam key to try it out. Keep up the great work!

Really enjoyed my time on the game. I was getting the nostalgia feels as I started it up. I haven't played 2D platformers in so long so I was not very good and it was the perfect kind of challenge for me. If your a fan of these types of games, a speed runner, or just a casual gamer and want to see some neat artwork and good background music then I definitely recommend it.
