About The Adventure of Ninomae Ina'nis

The Adventure of Ninomae Ina'nis is a vertical shoot 'em up game where you control Ninomae Ina'nis from Hololive Myth and her companion AO-chan.

Story Mode

The Takodachi have gone missing and it is up to Ina and AO-chan to find them! This is a casual mode where players will make their way through three levels unraveling the mystery of the missing Takodachi. This mode has unlimited continues and saves your progress so that you can continue from the start of the last level that you reached. The Final Battle plays out a little differently depending on how many Takodachi you are able to save.

Arcade Mode

Test your mettle in this mode dedicated to high score chasers. The mode features the three Story Mode levels plus three remixed levels for the second loop called Another Tomorrow. The mode features a Score Multiplier mechanic that players can take advantage of to increase their scores immensely. Your Progress won’t be saved and if you run out of health you won’t be able to continue. Do you have the resolve needed to face the unknown threat of the second loop?

Score Board!

Arcade Mode scores are saved to a local scoreboard. Try your best to rack up the highest scores you possibly can!

Stage Select!

As you progress through the levels in the different game modes, you will be able to play them individually through the Stage Select. Stages unlock as you reach them so if you need to practice a particular level before committing to it in Arcade Mode then the Stage Select is your best option.

10/10 for the giggle clips The game is a little rough around the edges, but I applaud it for being different from a Touhoulike. It has stage obstacles, and you can block bullets with AO-chan, so it plays more like a puzzle-shmup than a fast-paced bullet hell game. The difficulty level is probably comparable to Touhou on Normal — it took me around 5 hrs to clear both loops in this game (arcade), which is similar to how long I spent on Touhou HSiFS. That said, story mode is much easier than arcade, and there's a Baby Mode too, so that might bring the difficulty down to Easy. If you're new to shmups, just remember that you're not expected to beat it on your first try. Treat it like a roguelike. It normally takes 5-20 hrs to clear these types of games, even though a single run is only 30 mins. Don't give up! Make Ina proud!
Conclusion
I'm happy to see a Hololive fan game that's more fun to play than to watch. Who knows, maybe this'll be someone's gateway shmup. P.S. Devs, if you're reading this, you should consider enabling the Run In Background option. This is an obscure detail, but Ina had specifically requested that feature once: https://www.youtube.com/live/8QkWmzfWrP…

The story of a local girl who may or may not be human (jury's still out on that) flying across the sky and trying to find her squishy, cookie eating takos. Despite the concept and the premise, it acts like a traditional 2D shooter. Compared to other 2D shooters, your shooting option also doubles as a frontal shield and has free aim shooting. It does offer strong difficulty with the arcade mode's second loop where everything wants to murder you on your journey to get cookies. Regardless its a nice game worth its price.

While I liked it, it was a bit lacking in Danmaku area. It's more of a classic shmup than danmaku with a few twists. The whole presentation is cute and voice lines are pretty fun. It is pretty short, so you don't get tired of it. It's a bit challenging, especially when you play without checkpoints. The things I wasnt a fun of are the backgrounds - they are just floating shapes, without any variety. The bosses, except the last one, are just bullet sponges, you don't have to do much to defeat them. And the gamepad support is kinda lacking. It works, but the right stick just emulates the cursor - would've been better to just make it twinstick shooter like. And the left stick is 8 directions, more analog input would be appreciated. But still, it is pretty fun and enjoyable.

Honestly mainly bought it for the Chaotix reference in the trailer, but the game itself is pretty good too. The cursor (which also controls where shots go) controls a shield around Ina and circles around her depending on where the cursor on the screen is. That's an interesting idea, though I sometimes can lose focus for where the cursor might be, good thing there's an easy mode that kind of balances that out a bit. So yeah, game's good, I won't be like "You gotta play this game", but it's good. If this game caught your eye, and you're interested in playing this, you'll probably be at least like "yeah, that was pretty good.", I think.
