Wildfires are getting wilder, the land is completely dry, and there is no water to be found. Your entire home and the surrounding area has become a wasteland. It feels like it’s apocalypse now! The Climate Trail was an attempt at making a crap, deficient ripoff of The Oregon Trail from the 1980's, but significantly worse in all respects. It was slapped together badly with Ren'Py, the lazy low quality construction kit designed for making godawful visual novels. But at least a "game" was made out of it... or at least an attempt was made. The game doesn't launch because the developer screwed up the pathing to the game exe file in the manifest. Because it's broken, it's unrecommendable, but of course there's also locked resolution and all the other quality problems associated with Ren'Py. Plus it's just a ripoff of Oregon Trail, but with bad art, gameplay and writing. This game sucks. Way it's made is unreasonable - you make bad choice, you just scroll back. Game won't launch, because deployment is wrongly set, so .exe file can't be found by Steam. I know this is educational - supposed to teach us about global warming, but it fails deeply, as most people "CBA" to open .exe file from game's directory.5 found this helpful
This is a really great game to remind us all of how well and truly hosed we are, if we can't get global warming under control. Played to the end and, and didn't regret it. (A bit boring or grindy at times, but that's far overshadowed by the existential horror of our planet's current tragectory. Oof.) Definitely worth playing! :)2 found this helpful
