You play as Cass, an arctic climate researcher. You must get off the ice sheet before it collapses. On your way, you will gather and analyze data about the ice.

The Tipping Point is a 3D side-scroller developed in collaboration with real world researchers in an interdisciplinary effort (physicists, biologists, chemists, statisticians, and more). The things you do in The Tipping Point are based on what researchers do in the arctic in real life.

Great game
This game belongs on a website for kids. Very simple but takes up a lot of time. Unoriginal game mechanics, put together decently well. I can get behind the message but this is not the way to tell it to adults, and frankly the dialogue was a bit too involved for kids.
Works fine on Steam Deck. It's a short platforming game with mini-games that take you away from the platforming. It feels like a college game with its lack of polish, and the game has an unlikable main character but their heart is in the right place. The ice sheets are melting and we need the data to prove it! Really the game has a good message about global warming and how humanity can potentially reverse the cascading effects of damage the melting of the ice sheets would cause. But....I think we're kinda past the tipping point in the real world and we are not investing in it at all as a species. Anyway the game is fun for platforming, mini-games are boring, and the message of the game, while sweet, ultimately doesn't matter since humans don't care about the environment until it's too late, and it's already too late.

short and interesting game. it calls for action in an interactive way and presents important facts in a digestible manner.
A short and sweet game that manages to educate me about the realities of climate change while keeping my attention. Definitely a good engaging tool to teach others about the subject matter that's fun at the same time. Hopefully we get more of these kinda games.
