About THE DARK SIDE OF CECLON

We are in the year 2452 on the planet CECLON, in galaxy 732.
The Z-One team has been sent there to recover the Veka energy that abounds on the planet.

This energy can be used to power all sorts of things, and above all to create water and artificial food. With the earth's resources in short supply, man sees this energy as a future solution for the survival of the human race.

Subsequently, a second expedition, the Z-Two team, was sent to the planet to assist the Z-One team in their task.
But during their journey, Z-One team gave no sign of life.

Soon arriving at their destination, the Z-Two team unfortunately collided with an asteroid shower on the outskirts of the planet, which caused major damage to the Nexentia shuttle. Too badly damaged, it crashed on a plateau, leaving no survivors... Except Jensen.

Alone in this arid desert, you must survive, understand what happened and leave the planet CECLON, bringing the precious Veka energy back to Earth. Will you fail in your mission, or will you be a survivor and savior of humanity?

Made by a lone developper, THE DARK SIDE OF CECLON is a TPS open-world with unique blend of action/adventure with survival/RPG mechanics. An immersive game set in a science fiction universe.

It's got the bones of a good game. But I just couldn't get past the dialogue. 16 minutes is all it took me to not want to see another dialogue box pop up. Was it written by AI? or English as a second language? Either way, I found myself skipping those sequences. Which of course, meant there was no story to the game at all anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I went in search of another way to pass the time.

It's crazy to think that this game has been made by only one person. The game is engaging, beautiful and there is a lot to do. If you like survival, puzzles and exploration this game is for you. I'll advise to start in the lowest difficulty if you're not accustomed to the genre though.

After the first hour, which can be a little rough (the survival aspect is very advanced and the game is so packed with information that it can sometimes feel overwhelming), I really enjoyed this game, which mixes puzzles and exploration, with an intriguing story.

Ceclon got me many times, but I'm pretty sure I'll soon be able to conquer this merciless survival game. At first, the planet looks peaceful and inviting… but within minutes, you’re thrown straight into hell. The game is complex, highly engaging, and features a smooth and efficient gameplay that keeps you hooked. Good luck, guys!

It's ok for a first attempt from a new studio, but not very fun. The AI voice acting isn't good, and the translations are rough. Dialog has weird phrasing like the protagonist going down in a fireball in a supposedly emotional scene randomly says "ahahah?!", everything says "fill" instead of "hold" for button presses, etc. Graphics are mid, but the settings don't support several common default resolutions. Sound fx are canned. Everything is just OK with nothing completely broken, but also nothing done particularly well. Most notably though, this game is NOT a crafting game. It is a run around and collect set items to fill set buckets to enable set "survival" tools and machines. If you've run out of games to play, I can imagine this might keep you entertained for a couple of hours, but I'm not willing to give it that to push it past the refund window.

Well, this game has a lot of potential, but there are some edges to smooth out, sure this is a problem that many indie games have, and that's OK, when a small team make a game, sometimes updates take some time. As of now for 15€ is a fair price, and sometimes the price gets more "persuasive" in a discount event. My biggest worry is that the last update was JUL last year, about 8 months, and no updates were given by the devs. Maybe they are active in Discord, not sure/ not care. Do I need to have to subscribe to another Discord channel, because steam is completely capable to get some kind of road-map etc... as so many other games do, but that a rant for another time. Proton, compatibility looks to be OK So, TLDR, * Good game to people that like the genre * Price fair but, may be better to wait for some special sale * worried, last update was about 8 months, and no additional info were available on steam, they have a Discord, (but I feel unnecessary to join, just to get some info, and then get notifications/spam util the day I die and perhaps even after that.) * Compatible with Proton, no finicky needed, I use Arch, known for its "hissy fits" (I can elaborate, if needed, but t…
