Deliver Them From Darkness Come to see what all this is about, have you? Right then, I'll fill you in. The Deadly Path is a thrilling building management and roguelike real-time strategy game. It's down to you to do some serious grovelling, gathering and building if you want to survive it. See, you're the Custodian, and you're in the bad books with the fearsome gods of the Dread Pantheon who you're trapped here with. If you ever want to see the dim light of day again, you'll need to keep these Dread Deities sweet. And that means bringing about their rightful ascension...by whatever means necessary. Anyway, down here in this grimly fascinating fantasy underworld, you've got to flex your strategic muscles. The Deadly Path's got an easy-to-pick-up but tricky-to-master game loop; the gods aren't planning on making it easy for you. Still, it's not all stick and no carrot. You'll get to dote on different dastardly deities, construct wicked dungeon defences, and gather vital and vile materials. You know, for upgrades, sacrificial rituals, demonstrating your devotion, all the usual demonic deeds. As you expand your burgeoning empire of darkness, you'll usher in new eras of progress and help the Dread Pantheon out on their quest for revenge. Oh, and you get to micromanage a whole gamut of rancid but otherwise dutiful servants. Sounds fun, eh? Here's some of the gritty details:
- An epic roster of demonic Dread Deities to prove yourself to, each with its own gameplay quirks, perks and victory conditions.
- Excavate a riveting range of Entombed Tiles as you expand your base.
- Construct unique buildings, boneyards and fabricators to bolster your stockpiles.
- Defend the Dread domain from attackers and other unseen threats with your servant army.
- Advance through the Ages to unlock and uncover new tiles, loot, minions and possibilities.
- Gain the aid of the Custodians and wield the power of Charms.
- Forge a powerful Idol to appease each of the Dread Deities as you toil in preparation for their ascension.

I put off playing this game for a bit of time. I saw the negative reviews and hesitated diving in. The reviews are for the most part on point. There is an amazingly good idea here that is weighed down heavily by bad UI and missing QOL features. Given there has been zero updates or patches since launch to address these problems, I cannot in good faith recommend this game.6 found this helpful
Generally, I want my horror from a game to come from the game's content, not the suspense of whether or not the game will run properly. Bugged timers, variables not properly resetting, cards frozen in place--these are only some of the wonderful bugs you'll encounter in this nightmare. It's sad, because truly at it's core it's a fantastic game (my nearly 30 hours a testament to my willingness to be patient and explore what it has to offer). However, I've finally had to admit to myself that no matter how good the game's concept is, the literal mechanical function is irreconcilable.
I liked the first couple of rulers. They were fun. Then they become harder with nothing to balance that and you just need to find that one building to win and if you don't - you're screwed, start again. Game is unbalanced and was abandoned almost instantly after the release. Such a pity, because the concept was very promising
Much has been said about the UI of this game, and it's all true. You need to personally monitor up to 30 separate timed tasks and if any of them fail the game is over. You are given zero audio or visual cues when these things are about to fail. As the game progresses the map grows and grows and you are given more and more timed tasks to keep track of. To succeed at this game you need 5 monitors, 10 mice and 30 sets of eyes, and the skill to operate all of them at once, since you cannot slow the timers down or take actions when the game is paused. The main action in the game is clicking and dragging you character cards to location tiles. About 20% of the time you click a spot on the card that doesn't register, and you need to try to drag the card about 5 times before it drags. Typically, while failing to drag the card, 5 more situations that require dragging a card appear, andalso 3 events occur that cause a game over. Maddening. I really really want to like this game, but unfortunately I must say that it is not very good.
The game is good but not finished. You have 3 difrent speed optione and pause. The problem is during pause you canot bild. Witch is big problem late game cuz more you expand more LAG YOU HAVE. The game must be optimaze or we must bild during pause mode. devs need to make a choise...
Can't get it to run on mac even though it says it runs on macs. Get an error at start every time. Bought the full game. No luck.
