AI Slop is never worth your time. Wade through mountains of AI Slop generated/edited text from someone who can't write and so used a computer to do it for him. Gamers, you deserve better than this... genuinely made games from real artists are out there. Go with one of those. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. (Update; oh, yuck, I didn't see this was AI slop, that explains so much. Disregard all the stuff I say below about this having potential; the dev's apparently didn't care enough to actually make this game, so it was never going to be any better than bad.) It's rare for me to give a free game a bad rating... when it isn't riddled with ads and in-app purchases, anyway. The Final Act is not a rotten idea. It's a rather nice one, actually; a first person puzzle game with a theoretically charming art style built around the idea of exploring fictional murder scenarios for a story. Lovely. The issue comes when you start playing. I don't have a weak PC, but this game was chugging along as soon as I wound up in control. That's probably because of all the various filters used to give it the fuzzy, indistinct look that it has. I feel like they were going for "watercolour", but what I got from it was "cataracts", Going to the settings, there're no fine-grain video settings, just simple overall presets; Epic is the default chug-fest, High runs betters but looks just as awful, and the two lower settings both trade off the blurry glowy filters for frankly bizarre colour choices. I played this as a one off. The controls and overall story are very minimal and leaves me wanting more from this game. This game was an idea that needed more development. I would not play this again and I certainly do not recommend it.1 found this helpful
