About The Hell Inside
The Hell Inside is an action roguelike taking place in familiar places turned unfamiliar.
Waking up with nothing but a book as a weapon, you must battle through hordes of monsters that do not seem to have a place here.
The book is your weapon, and your only one. Your life depends on it.
The book starts out as as a weak projectile, but with the power of adding pages with upgrades written on them, the book can change and morph into what is needed. Upgrades range drastically with some playing a more supportive role such as a laser sight or a more offensive role, like changing your projectiles into knives.
New pages can also be written by finding ink during runs. These pages can be written before a run starts to have a chance of dropping during the next run.

Not a bad little game. Cheap pickup price and solo developed. Can tell a decent amount of thought has gone in to its creation. Simple and easy to pick up gameplay, you get a quick little tutorial which is nice. I did find it quite hard though, might be a bit of a hurdle for some. I like the different types of enemies and how they come with their own pattern. There's different skins that you can earn and you can grind out earning ink on your runs to purchase new pages with new upgrades for your book. This gives the game a replayability value and i just find the book being your weapon as a whole interesting, especially how it can behave differently depending on what pages are active. There's a glossary page in the pause menu explaining all the different upgrades you can get, the odd chest pops up in game as well which you can use your ink on to get more pages. I found holding the shift key on my runs useful, it zooms out so you can find your way to the next area a bit easier. Don't know if there's a button for it on the controller because i haven't used one but yeah thumbs up from me.3 found this helpful
Top tier game from solo developer. Well designed mechanics and hours of fun bit hard tho1 found this helpful
Fun game. The character skins are great and the book is designed well with the different pages and bookmarks it makes every run feel different and the enemies and bosses progressively get harder making it more re-playable and actually a challenge. :)1 found this helpful
Another great game solo-developed by Gingersoft. Each page found throughout the levels offers different play styles & every run feels vastly different. Each enemy type will come at you with their own attack style, so it's important to keep your character moving at all times! Super fun!1 found this helpful
