Any time there is text it flickers off and on rapidly making it impossible to read anything and is frankly pretty annoying even if I didn't care about being able to read whatever the text is. I would straight rather play with no text or information at all than deal with the flickering. Even worse about five minutes into my first game it started flickering the whole screen regardless of there being any text. Reinstalling the game did nothing. If you are prone to seizures this game is a straight up health hazard. That being said the few minutes I played seemed decent outside of the flickering but there are plenty of other bullet heaven games to play out there that don't have serious technical issues.

(Played on PC and Steamdeck) This game is all sorts of busted. I initially installed it on my steamdeck but it straight up doesn't work, so if you're getting it for steamdeck, don't. As for the PC, my pc can handle plenty of games and the amount of screen tearing and visual glitches in this game is wild. There are plenty of better options of this same genre.

I really enjoy this game. However, as of right now it gets pretty laggy when there are a lot of creatures. The enemies can spawn on top of you making you die almost instantly. There also isn't a great visual indicator that you are being damaged. I play without sound sometimes and have now idea why i got hit. Last thing is the visuals. Many of the things in this game don't stand out enough to reasonably be avoided. For example the vine ability and the acid pools blend into each other causing me to walk through acid when i am walking through my own ability.

Great game, very difficult, I like it! PLEASSSEEEEE devs PLEAAAASEEEEE make me able to enable cloud save, I lost all of my progress......

HellEscape is so close to being a good game but is just too far on the frustrating side for my taste. You die so fast and enemies can spawn directly on top of you with no grace period on some of the stages
