Descend into a limbo of decaying memories as Benedict Fox, a self-proclaimed detective bound to his demon companion. Use that unholy bond to explore the minds of the recently deceased in search of clues as you uncover the mysteries of a massive, decrepit mansion — the site to a young couple's grisly murder, and the disappearance of their child. Immerse yourself in a dark, intriguing world full of secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded crimes in an arcane adventure brought to life through a fascinating Burton-esque art style.
Fight demons, explore the subconscious, and solve elaborate puzzles in a labyrinthian adventure inspired by Lovecraft's nightmares, noir pulp fiction, and early 20th-century jazz music.
Use your bond with the demon to explore the minds of the recently deceased in your last chance to get a “testimony”. Jump into surreal worlds where memories, emotions, and traumas take on a physical form.
Uncover the secrets of an old mansion where a couple has been found slain, and their child has gone missing. Get drawn into a dark, yet intimate intrigue that will have you face the family’s demons - both figuratively and literally!
Use your weapons, demon powers, and surroundings in creative combinations to overcome demons, monsters, and cultists - but remember that concentration and a tactical approach are your greatest assets.

On the good side - the story seems nice, I got a slight feeling as if something was missing but it made me more interested to find out more. Cool art style as well, Companions design was my fav. On the opposite Some of the puzzles - no idea where they came from, they were so disconnected from the rest of the game. Combat? Just spam it out and you're good. Movement seemed a bit off, spamming double jump made me access places I don't think I should this early.2 found this helpful
Developed and published by Plot Twist, The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition delivers a distinctive fusion of Metroidvania exploration, detective storytelling, and psychological horror wrapped in a world inspired by cosmic terror and occult mysteries. Rather than focusing solely on combat or platforming, the game builds its identity around uncovering hidden truths through investigation, exploration, and supernatural abilities. The Definitive Edition represents a substantial refinement of the original release, introducing upgraded combat mechanics, smoother traversal, expanded puzzles, improved enemy behavior, and numerous quality-of-life enhancements that create a more polished and satisfying experience. The story follows Benedict Fox, a detective linked to a mysterious demonic companion who grants him the extraordinary ability to enter Limbo, a surreal dimension formed from the memories of the recently deceased. What begins as the investigation of a brutal family tragedy quickly unfolds into a larger conspiracy involving secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and unimaginable horrors. The narrative steadily reveals its mysteries through environmental storytelling, c…1 found this helpful
A lore-rich game with beautiful graphics and interesting puzzles. I played on relaxed combat mode with immortality enabled because I found the combat somewhat unwieldy, and I think the only downside of playing this way was it made most of the boss battles somewhat trivial, as well as made many of the combat-focused items + item upgrades fairly useless. Otherwise, it was nice because it let me focus on exploring the maps and solving puzzles without worrying about dying (especially because enemies respawn).1 found this helpful
For Steam Deck users I liked this game a lot but all the time I had FPS problem. And on chase sequences it was awful but doable. Tomas's third phase with FPS 11 or even 9 is impossible. So sad. I was going for perfect1 found this helpful
I tried to like this. Sure, I didn't put too much time into it but I felt like the main part of the gameplay (combat/movement) was really janky and felt really underwhelming. When a game that the main focus is the combat fails to even be "good" the rest of the game falls flat to me.
nice gameplay!! nice storyline!!! and awesome graphics!!!
