Oh my God, is this game the drizzling poops. I had avoided it decades ago, but because I have an affinity for awful games as well as point and click adventure games, I decided to scratch both itches at once. I was an idiot for having done so. The Mystery of the Druids is infamous for its terrible plot, puzzles and graphics. Look at other adventure games that came out around the same time. Grim Fandango. Syberia. Dracula Resurrection. You can’t use the game’s age as an excuse for being this terrible. It’s not that it aged poorly; it’s that it was Daikatana for the adventure set from day one. The surprising thing? The Steam version IS EVEN WORSE. The one you get here is missing important files so the game will crash every time you hand over an item, amongst other times. You’ll have to download files to make the game work without crashing. It also will not save properly on a PC, but it will on a Steam Deck, so you’ll have to download some more files to get that to function properly? How is this allowed to be sold on Steam? How can you sell a game that doesn’t work? It’s Dead Mountaineer’s Club all over again. Or WrestleMania XXI for the original Xbox. Don’t buy this. If you must…10 found this helpful
I'll update my review once I'm actually done with the game I just thought I would want to drop some knowledge here If you are having issues 1. download DDrawCompat.dll From this steam review https://steamcommunity.com/id/HardenedMetapod/recommended/343000/ 2. Download fixed meshes from this steam post And put the new meshes in the updates folder of the game https://steamcommunity.com/app/343000/discussions/0/1471967615842468311/7 found this helpful

The Mystery of the Druids is a point-and-click adventure game developed by House of Tales and published by HandyGames that attempts to blend classic detective storytelling with supernatural and historical intrigue. Set in modern-day London, the story begins with Detective Brent Halligan of Scotland Yard, a somewhat impulsive and often ill-tempered investigator who finds himself caught up in a series of gruesome murders. What seems at first like a conventional police case quickly takes on a darker dimension as Halligan uncovers links between the killings and ancient druidic rituals. The game soon expands beyond the city’s grim backstreets to include elements of archaeology, myth, and even time travel, giving it a narrative scope that is surprisingly ambitious for its early 2000s origins. Beneath its familiar murder mystery premise lies a story that tries to connect modern science with ancient sorcery, drawing the player into a web of conspiracy that stretches back centuries. Visually, The Mystery of the Druids captures the transitional moment between the hand-drawn adventures of the 1990s and the 3D-rendered titles that would soon define the genre. Its pre-rendered backgrounds are …3 found this helpful
Oh boy. You need workarounds to make it work because it's kinda broken on steam. Once you find a way, it's funny because it's bad. Got it as a gift, hence it was free.1 found this helpful
Women do like winners, Halligan. The game wont run unless you use files from the GOG version (which you can also play perfectly fine). The game is psychotic and funny, its worth playing for the absurdity of it either by yourself or with friends, the puzzles are decent but can also be complete nonsense.
