Based on the work of Aneko Yusagi, the popular anime "The Rising of the Shield Hero" makes its RPG debut!
Not only can you relive memorable scenes from the anime, but you can experience the battle system used by Naofumi, a hero who specializes in defense. Faithful to The Rising of the Shield Hero, you can also become a traveling merchant, conducting business throughout the vast lands of Melromarc.
BGM that can be used in the Maker series is included as a bonus with your purchase.
There are eight songs in all, penned by composer Yuka Tsujiyoko. These tracks are completely original works written for this game and you'll hear them everywhere--from battle to various maps.
Note: These bonus tracks can be found in the same folder the game is installed in.
Please use them according to the user agreement.

The battle system makes use of the Shield Hero's various abilities and talents such as "Vigilance" which lets you see where the enemy is aiming, "Seize" which traps enemies who gun for you, and "Protect" which you use to guard allies.
There's also a robust leveling system where you can infuse your shield with items you obtain to learn new skills.

So my save file is just gone? I saved and logged off last night after getting Rafftalia's upgraded sword for 130 silver, then went to log on 10 minutes ago and I no don't have a save file?! Even if i hadn't saved after getting that far, I had already saved multiple times before, including after unlocking the porcupine shield which is available after the cave fight. But even after multiple saves from different points through the game, none of my data is available. I had over 4 and a half hours of saved data, and now it is saying I have only had the game open for 3 hours?2 found this helpful
I almost refunded this game. Let me explain. I love Shield Hero. I quit the anime during season three because it was just that badly made and switched over to the light novels. I thought, "a game set in this world would be amazing!" and went on to discover this game. As I found it, I knew not to expect anything amazing. There's only so much you can do with a tool for creating games instead of doing it fully on your own. I almost refunded it because I started on my Steam Deck and there it kept freezing in the middle of dialogue (which there is a ton of in this game), forcing me to close the game and start over from the last save. I could not get past Myne's betrayal without it freezing. But I switched over to my PC and gave it half an hour to prove it wouldn't keep crashing on here too, and it did not. So the game works, but don't try it on the Steam Deck if you want to keep your sanity. I am glad I got it to work because I'm loving it. This game gives me one more way to interact with the story and it is great for that besides the occasional confusing hiccup where you have to refer to a guide to figure out what's wrong. It is a good game if you are a fan of the anime, but the issue I have with it is that the anime has 4 seasons. The game covers only the first season.1 found this helpful
