Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising combines a thrilling adventure through ancient ruins with the tale of one town’s rise from the ashes.
Drawn by lenses and other treasures in the nearby Runebarrows, our heroes learn that the town is struggling to rebuild after an earthquake and decide to help. Along the way, they’ll resolve disputes between eager adventurers and wary locals who don’t think the Barrows should be disturbed. And they’ll learn more about each other’s reasons for seeking treasure, deepening their bonds in the process.
As you will learn, these Runebarrows hide a great secret that has fateful implications for one of the characters. What begins as a simple treasure hunt turns into a dark conspiracy that will shake the world and plant seeds that carry over into the main story of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
The game will introduce a portion of Eiyuden Chronicle’s cast of characters in an original story with thrilling action and engaging town-upgrading elements.
There will be some perks for players that link the game with Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
*The name of one character from the Eiyuden Chronicle franchise has been changed from JB to CJ.

[h1] A LINEAR TOWN BUILDING RPG WITH RETRO VIBES [/h1] As a long Suikoden fanboy, I feel like the nostalgia is calling me to playing this game. Take this game as the "Ground Zeroes" of Metal Gear Solid V, this is just an intro for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, but instead the intro game is focused on side-scrolled action game rather the turn-based like the main game. But, well, as its own game, it share its own fun. Easy 100% completion. [b] Story Review : [/b] Well, most of the time story revolved around the teenager CJ (not Carl Johnson) that trying to help the townfolks, looking for treasure and bonding with an acting mayor Isha and a kangaroo Garoo It is actually easy to follow, really straightforward and through the ending the plot get thicken, not so bad lah. My Rating: 6.5/10 [b] Gameplay Review : [/b] The fun part of the gameplay is watching you help the people around and making the town prosper with your contribution. Most of the time you will gather resource, smashing monsters, do some "talk to this, talk to that" quest, and then some shop are established that will help you to gather resource better and smashing monster easier. As a huge Suikoden fan, of course I had been waiting for its spiritual successor, so naturally I got into Eiyuden Chronicle. The funny thing is… I actually started this game thinking this was the main game. I played for a while and kept thinking… this feels strangely small for the whole “Hundred Heroes” game. Then I finally realized that no, this is basically a smaller prequel/spin-off leading into the actual main game. So first of all, don’t get them mixed up like I did. This is definitely a much smaller and more linear experience. You go through areas that feel almost like dungeon runs, fight enemies, gather materials, complete quests for townspeople and slowly help build up the town. And honestly? I enjoyed it. The town-building side was fun, and I really liked the three main characters together. Especially the kangaroo man, He was hilarious. Some of the comedy felt so unfiltered and random. Gameplay-wise, it also gave me this old-school feeling with the platform-style movement and battles. There was something nostalgic about it. Well firstly, I played Hundred Heroes a little bit on gamepass before it came off and wanted to buy it and realized Rising was the first one. So I ended up buying both on steam super discounted and I must say finding this little series was a surprise. Fun gameplay, plus a good story that connects you to all the characters. Can't wait to finish and hop back to hundred heroes!1 found this helpful
