it is a very barebones dungeon crawler, you start op and remain op for the vast majority of the game, you have a few options for weapons but all of them play the same. The most disturbing part is how perverted this game is, you got the main character groping basically every single other supporting character including his little sister. I don't know it just leaves a very bad taste playing this game. The performance is good though, playing on 3440x1440 had no issues, doubt I will be playing it more tho feels like I have seen everything it has to offer apart from Kirito SAing the rest of the cast

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, not even other SAO fans. Don't waste your time.

I'd recommend this game only to people that like the characters from Sword Art Online. The main draw of the game is seeing more interactions between Kirito and the various girls in the series. The other aspects of the game, from the main story to the gameplay itself, aren't particularly good. and you probably shouldn't play this game unless you intend on playing the other Sword Art Online games as those games follow this game's storyline (which is different from the anime and light novel). The game starts roughly around the end of the Aincrad arc in the anime at the 75th floor and then splits off into its own events within Aincrad. Unlike the anime, [spoiler] the game's story goes through to the 100th floor[/spoiler]. New characters are introduced, and characters from up to the second season show up as well. Most of the main-story-related bits are incredibly short and infrequent except at the beginning and ending of the game. This game is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's bad. I know it's bad. The bosses are recolours of each other. The dungeons look almost the exact same. Every fight feels the exact same. The targeting system is the most abysmal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I've ever had the displeasure of using. The game does not run very well, even on powerful systems. The affinity system is the most droll, mind-numbing task known to mankind. Parry, Stun, and Dodge are finicky at best, and completely useless at worst. Yet, somehow, the story of this game keeps pulling me in, time and time again. Philia is best girl. She has such an interesting story, and yet she is not in the anime at all. She is completely contained to this universe. The gameverse actually doesn't cop out of the 100 floor storyline. It actually feels like the potential of Sword Art Online is explored. Funny enough, Asuna still annoys me. The very existence of the anti-harem is frustrating, but ignoreable, at least. I can choose to romance and talk to whoever I wish. That person is Philia. A review by someone who played the PS4/Vita version for years! This game isn't the worst... While it isn't perfect, it did do a lot that was appealing, especially if you're a fan of the SAO franchise. From giving an interesting alternate timeline to the series, to giving fans a way to live in the universe alongside memorable characters such as Asuna, Sinon, Lizbeth, among even new characters in the game's storyline like Strea and Philia. The game allows you to essentially play through an alternate timeline as Kirito, while the infamous Sword Art Online VRMMORPG is slowly glitching; and you're able to even replace Kirito as a custom character if you'd like, one that can date the various characters. Now, while the dating system is not the best, it is neat that the game cared to give fans this freedom to begin with, especially when the gameplay is probably the best part about it. The gameplay that SAO was known for having, with the sword-skills all available to you, it's all here and accounted for alongside the various party members you can make use of as well!
