I'm totally here for the rise of cozy horror simulation games, but this one just doesn't hit 'the sweet spot.' The visuals are stunning and managing the ice cream store feels alright; the food looks delicious! However, it really lacks a meaningful story and doesn't quite deliver on the horror elements. It will probably be somewhat scary to players who are newer to the genre. These kinds of games usually play mind games with you, using atmosphere and SFX to make you your own worst enemy. But for horror veterans, the jump scares here feel a bit cheap. There are definitely better cozy food horror options out there. I also felt like the ending took heavy inspiration from the last day in 'The Boba Teashop' .. it just didn't feel entirely original, nor surprising. You can tell the developers had their hearts in the right place, but the execution is lacking. Outside of Story Mode, you get Endless and Relax Mode. Endless has you filling orders non-stop on a timer, and Relax is exactly that, minus the clock. It would have been way cooler if we got a sort of 'Endless Career Mode' where you could upgrade your shop over time, because the foundation for it is definitely there.6 found this helpful
If you grab this because of the low price and accept those implications, then... you might still be pretty disappointed. There doesn't seem to be a story, which mean there's no ending that's sensible. At some point, the game stops adding mechanics and just kind of arbitrarily ends. The jump scares and heartbeat noises aren't entirely coherent as, again, *there is no story*. Also, the gameplay loop is more basic than you might expect. I highly doubt I'll explore the additional gameplay modes. All in all: not a lot of game here.1 found this helpful
Good little horror-sim game! Very similar to others games like The Boba Tea Shop. Some good jumpscares, and good atmosphere. I wish the ending was a bit better/more thought out. But overall for $6 the game isn't bad.1 found this helpful
Game is trash. Game is not scary and the only way to beat the ending is to die few times, remember the orders and do all of them in advance1 found this helpful
I didn't play this, my wife did, she loved it, she said the ending was a little strange but overall it was fun, and the fact that the dev added relax mode made it even better. W dev for doing that.
Really enjoyed the demo, and really enjoyed being gifted it by my good friend <3
