About The Terrible Old Man

✦ AI summary

You play as three shady criminals plotting to rob a reclusive old man, only to discover his home holds dark secrets far worse than theft in this free point-and-click adventure based on H.P. Lovecraft's classic tale. Featuring haunting hand-drawn art, eerie animation, and unsettling atmosphere, this bite-sized game delivers horror through mystery and dread rather than jump scares.

Three men of loose virtue are enjoying a drink in a local tavern, when they overhear the story of a rich and feeble old man who lives in town. They soon plot to take his treasures...

This is a very short (and free) interactive adaptation of The Terrible Old Man, a short story by H.P. Lovecraft. This adaptation was originally released back in 2015 - it was made in 30 days for the MAGS gamejam.

This Steam re-release features polished graphics, additional content, new music and Steam achievements!

Features:

An adaptation of the classic H.P. Lovecraft short story.

Traditional point and click adventure interface.

Unsettling hand drawn graphics and animation.

Fully animated cut scenes.

640 x 360 widescreen resolution.

a sweet short point'n'click about a small town horror. Worth your time, if you like a decent oldschool horror vibe.

Really enjoyed this little game! It’s short, creepy and has such a lovely spooky atmosphere. I loved the pixel art and the Lovecraft feel, and it had that old fashioned point and click adventure vibe that I really enjoy. Definitely worth playing if you fancy something short, strange and a little bit creepy! 👻❤️
