THUGGING

The roots are there and the art style is very nice. The Driving is fun (A little wonky at times) but enjoyable nonetheless. My issues come from the combat and lack of real engaging gameplay. The NPS aren't alerted by dead friends or the sounds of gunshots, this takes away from the game making it feel like you're shooting mannequins. That being said the game has an idea and if polished and made more like a real shoot em up, this would easily be a very popular game. I really hope we get to see that.

THUGGING is a game that immediately feels like it is trying to bring back the rough and chaotic feeling of older third person action games. I found the whole thing quite entertaining because it does not seem interested in being overly serious or polished in the same way as a big budget open world game. I play as someone who has just got out of prison and is looking for revenge in a lawless city full of gangs, drugs and gambling. The setting has a strange old school atmosphere that I actually enjoyed. The main gameplay is built around third person shooting, and there is plenty of it. I spend a lot of time moving through the city, getting into fights with armed thugs and trying to survive the encounters. The shooting is fairly straightforward, but I liked the fast and messy feeling of the combat. It feels more like an arcade version of a crime game than a realistic shooter, which works well with the retro inspired presentation. One thing I really liked is that money is actually part of the gameplay. I am not just fighting enemies for the sake of clearing areas. I can steal cash and bring it back to my hideout, giving me another reason to explore the city and take risks. I found thi…

A small, Hotline Miami and GTA3 inspired game. I liked it. I would like to see more of this kind of game. I would like to see more from these developers.

Pretty fun quick game. I enjoyed the shooting mechanics and the music was very fitting. My ending had me murdering everyone who had come after me, surviving, and seemingly merging with our demon pal. I don't know how to go about getting other endings, the only choices I think that I made were paying some man's debt and murdering a non enemy in the casino, who was totally still guilty of bad stuff.
