ToS Gamepad Tester

crashes on linux ... just use steams built in tester instead

"ToS Gamepad Tester" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, "ToS Gamepad Tester" is a software application that allows you to test a console peasant children's toy gamepad if you decide to make your PC worse by plugging one in so you can pretend you're a console peasant. The worst part is this isn't free, you have to pay $1 to unlock all the features of this non-game software. Which does nothing you can work out just using Steam's native controller mapping and the Windows control panel. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. good to have one, it cost nothing.

Wasn't impressed because my old eyes couldn't read the text until I found Alt/Enter put it in full screen. Tested my old steam controller (which I only used about twice and is probably 10 y.o. or more) It tested everything except the right touch joy stick/pad which is I think is called touch centric so a bit disapointed but all in all a decent gamepad tester.

This tool is very useful. Highly recommended if you need to fix controllers.
