Touhou Renkyouto is a bullet hell fangame based on the world-renowned Touhou Project. Unlike many other bullet hell games, Touhou Renkyouto focuses both on verticality and horizontality. You'll be free to explore the 5 levels included in the game, save for the occasional bullet coming your way from any direction. Every level has unique enemies with unique bullet patterns to learn and (hopefully) dodge. After defeating an enemy, you'll get to collect the P-points dropped by them to power up Parsee's attack. With enough P-points, you'll also be able to get out of a tricky situation by bombing your way out and clearing the screen of those pesky bullets. At the end of every level is a tricky boss fight, each complete with several intricate bullet patterns, which will require all your wits and P-points to beat.At the end of every level, you'll be able to buy a new items from a pool of 14 unique items. When i saw this game, from my knowledge the first fan game of my beloved Parsee, i was exhilarated to pay attention and buy this game, things quickly changed when i saw the base premise of the game's story, and how it was going to proceed. However, i decided to commit, finished the game, and i'll give this game a honest review, despite my own thoughts. The game itself is fully responsive. What you press, Parsee will rightfully respond. The Controls are simple enough, and aren't hard to learn. Rarely i felt like a death of mine was due to the controls failling or being unresposive. Navigating the menu is just fine. Being able to set your own controls is very good too, as if the base controls are not what the player is feeling, having the hability to change is very good. I would at least add a way to skip cutscenes. The soundtrack and sound effects are quite fair too. Sound effects drinks heavily from the Touhou games, and theres no complaint there, as this is something expected, and appriciated. The Soundtrack is fun arragement of well known songs, and they sound super good, as they capture the feel of the original games really well, while giving its unique spin to sound pretty wel…6 found this helpful
A very solid touhou fan game. Its rather simple, yet challenging. Easy to pick up, hard to master. Past the middle of the game the bosses become very fun puzzles, you slowly learn their moves, and adapt with your items, so you never feel like you have to learn every move a boss has. The items have a nice variety, with most saving you from getting hit in one way or another. The pixelart is very well done, the character art is pretty cute. The music is very touhou-esque, in other words - a bop. All the weak spots that the game has are quickly overshadowed by the fun parts. No death felt like bs to me. If you've never played a real bullet hell game, like me, this is a good introduction, if you love bullet hell, then you'll probably love this as well. Very good for a solid couple hours of fun. I also recommend reading the John Brown Isekai made by the artist The Cabbage Preacher, its also a very solid novel,4 found this helpful
Stumbled across this game by complete accident during what was probably my 100th time searching for Parsee, glad I did! It's not everyday I find an enjoyable game where you can play as my favourite character! It also has Yuuparu, which makes it 10x better. I do wish your progress saved though, as exiting the game via the menu only leaves me with the option to start a new game, which was unfortunate :(2 found this helpful
A really fantastic game! While it does boast the difficulty that Touhou games are known for, the curve of difficulty eases you into it. With a lot of items to play with, it really does offer a fun experience. A must-play fan game!1 found this helpful
