Touhou Sky Arena Matsuri Climax is a game with a really nice concept, but a bad execution. I kept trying and honestly had faith in it but this is objectively really mediocre. The art is adorable and I love the songs too, but that's where the good aspects end. The gameplay is really... peculiar, to say the least. It's extremely disorienting and honestly hard to explain, not even the developers knew how to do that, there is an extremely long session of optional tutorials and a "How to Play" submenu with 9 pages full of text trying to make some sense of it's mechanics. It's one of the worst attempts at teaching the player I ever seen, really got me underwhelmed because I was very interested in learning. After a lot of trial and error I eventually got a general idea of how to play, but unfortunately that still doesn't mean it was fun for me, like mentioned earlier it is really disorienting, chaotic and with way too much moaning, which successfully gave me a slight headache lmao. The shots don't land properly, the melee attack feels situational but it's your best bet if you want to do some damage, spell cards are activated with weird inputs and also don't really land most of the time. …
